lol. I must have missed that. But nevertheless, getting beat in two phases of the game was an understatement.

Well obviously getting sacked 9 times didn't help and as I mentioned earlier, Wright's final sack was, IMO, the play of the game not the botched snap.

Nonetheless, when a team racks up 12 more first downs (21 to 9) and almost doubles their opponent in total yardage (313 to 170), it is hard not to get the impression that Miami was the better team except for the final score. But hey that's football - those type of games happen sometime.

I really would like to see the Miami-FSU game moved to the 2nd weekend of October (when it normally was played) in the future. It was painfully obvious that playing this game in mid-October would have greatly benefited both schools' quarterbacks. But I guess the lure of dollar signs from ABC is too great for them to turn down this blasted Labor Day date.

God that game pissed me off so much last night...luckily I barely remember the second half...I'll leave it at that.

****ing Monroe. ****ing Peattie. Absolute **** play calling. Uuugghhh.

But nevertheless, Wright does seem better than Brock; I'll give him a pat on the back or maybe even threaten to break his knees if he throws another INT (joke) when I see him in class tomorrow. (anybody got questions for the guy?)

And yeah, like Coker said, there's no reason for this to be played as the first of the season. Great for primetime, but so painful to either team if they lose.

Oh, and you gotta love the idiot FSU fans who don't listen...

**After Play Review: Ref: "The defender maintained possession -- (crowd cheers; ref shakes head) -- when he was out of bounds..."

Yea, that cracked me up! I am hoping that the Miami players have the image of the FSU players jumping into the student section burned in their minds. Be like an elephant and don't forget.

I was reading somewhere, Mr. Mooch, that Coker may go with Greg Olsen as the long snapper. Yes, I completely agree that Monroe sucks as a holder AND punter, but on the punt that was blocked, the snap was low just as was that pitiful 3rd FG attempt. I can't remember the dude's name that WAS the long-snapper, but hopefully his ass is off the team today.

See, I would argue that playing the game this early helps. It's early enough in the season to take a loss and then recover in the rankings, rather than losing in October and taking that plunge later in the season. As far as the strength of schedule junk, it all looks the same in the end. But the ranking are highly affected by WHEN you lose, you know? Either way, I'm sure the QB's would look somewhat more settled later on in the year. But I"m also sure it's hard to ignore the allure of a Labor Day primetime showdown on national TV.

I just got home after 4 days in Tallahassee. Fun time. It didn't feel like a win but I'll take it.

Makes sense. What I love about the athletes here is that they're all so versatile, they can play any position. I was really disappointed in not seeing Willie in there (at least I don't recall him in there; again...I...don't really remember the second half ;)). You KNOW he was ready to kick some ass.

I was focusing in on him, and him alone for much of the 1st quarter for that very reason(potential Texan lt).

The first 3 pass plays I saw he was beat to the outside every time. Not badly, he got a little push on his man, but he wasn't slowed much at all. The 1st time his man got to the qb but there was a teamate there a split second earlier so he either got 1/2 sack or none, depending on the scorer. Another time it looked like he(de) might have grazed the qb's arm from behind. Couldn't be sure but the pass did flutter. The other time the qb got rid of the ball very quickly on what looked like a quick 3-step drop, but anything longer and the de would have sacked him.

I've heard some say he played better the rest of the game, but for the early part I was watching him he looked shaky on his pass protection.
