I like Fry's for the specials. As for the customer service, I just returned a ATI HDTV Wonder system yesterday evening. No wait, no hassle, they didn't even need to see my credit card.

They've got a huge selection and a lot of good prices. They service people who want to build systems from components. I think they've got a pretty good thing going.

Fry's has a liberal return policy and its one of the better ones among consumer electronics. But their help is notoriously bad. It's a decent tradeoff considering the deals that come by.

Yeah, but usually you wait in one line for a choice of just TWO registers. I've never been to a Best Buy's that had more than two open unless it was the Christmas season.

you get what you pay for, and at Fry's you dont pay for very much :D

Much better than Best Buys Check Out Line
True about Best Buy and the 2 registers. I guess they have too many people giving customer service instead of cashiers. There are so many workers at Best Buy doing nothing but dodging customers.

I look through the Frys ads every week and find awsome deals on everything from Foreman Grills, to thumb drives, hard drives, etc.

They usually have the best prices in town.

I know its usually hard to find these items since they move so fast, but I have a winning record of asking employees to locate them for me even when they arent on the shelves.

I guess you want to have your cake and eat it too

Oh well, More for me. :D

No problem with customer service, but I don't usually use it. I like the line.

No offense, but it's things like this that cause those "great deals" to disappear. And then people get online and b**** about poor customer service or prices being too expensive. It's like scamming insurance companies and then saying insurance costs are too high. Duh.

Ive found hit or miss at Fry's

Nothing more that I hate is when you ask an employee a question and they just shrug their shoulders as a don't know. Lots of that young kids not giving a crap about helping you the customer.

On the other hand, whenever I've returned something with a receipt, theres never been a single bit of a problem or question. Bestbuy seems to be a bit more uptight in those situations...call the manager, blah, blah etc....

Anyhow, I often find myself going to Fry's and buying something although I dont even need anything!
I mean cmon, its a computer geeks candystore.:D

I really don't give a **** about their customer service. If I want something, and I know I'm getting a good deal on it, I'll just ask them where it is. It's no use to ask them questions because you're not going to get a honest, smart answer from them.

The only thing good about them is when they have a sale, you'll score good deals. But other than that, you can get the same ole' crap cheaper if you buy online, BB, CC, etc.

BTW, I just got a 52x TDK External USB 2.0 CD-Writer for $40 in Dallas. If you're wanting one, the sale ends Tuesday.

Bad customer service is annoying, for sure, but whenever a company pays an employee jack-**** for a wage, they're going to work like ****, because it's not difficult to find someplace else that will pay you the exact same jack-**** wage.
