    In which he proves he's a true Conservative and not a stupid one...

    Frum used to be an ass of the highest order... selling Iraq and other W crap but it looks like he's coming around. I guess it's better to do so now instead of on your death bed like Atwater.

    That article sounds great. I would strongly consider a Republican candidate if he followed those principles, but Frum is likely an CNN apostate traitor in Con circles these days...

    its obvious more evenly distributed wealth would go a long way to help the economy

    Sure there is room for a safety net. I just don't think it looks anything like Medicare, Social Security, Medicaid, and Unemployment. Instead it would be free clinics, subsidized housing in a dormitory like environment, and free dining halls.

    Like college, only without classes (possibly some job retraining?) and some labor would be required (maintaining the living environment primarily, something on top of that for younger people).

    Different from prison in the most important way, they are not required to stay there.

    The problem I have with Hogwarts is that it is all practicum. It's a trade school, not a place of learning. There's no theory, no thinking for yourself, only spells and potions to memorize. So, I would hope our future socialist state stays away from the Hogwart's model.
