"You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to macalu again." Oh christ lolololololol Oh lordy I'm so happy I've been here for this whole thread.
Well, OP reminds me of Homer Simpson and Peter Griffin on how they will ***** up the simplest of tasks.
on a related note (and a serious one), if you ever smell gas you need to shut off your main gas line immediately. it's the valve on the meter you duct-taped. well, i guess you should know that by now. after shut off, call a plumber, NOT the city. yes, a plumber will fix the gas leak. all the city will do is come take your meter, THEN tell you to call a plumber. you will have to pay in time and money and inspection to get that meter back.
Thanks for the info... On a side note, I got it fixed. Because of the water softener I have, for some reason the water is routed all weird. The sprinkler backflow device blowing up caused the lack of water. I went to Ace, got a new one and replaced it. Cost about 45 dollars. And now I have water at the house. Case Closed b****es...... p.s - i still don't know why my water wasn't working in the morning, the sprinkler thing didnt blow off till noon... o well, one of life's mysteries.
karma it is. came home, turned on kitchen sink, all i'm getting is a drip. at least it's a running drip. so not completely frozen. every other faucet is fine though.
can't do that, it's underneath the house...and i don't; have a hair dryer. may want to spoiler that pic.
well... lets think about this real hard. your exterior pipes had no insulation and since it was night you werent using any water so no flow. what happens to water when it freezes? expands thus cracking/breaking the pipes. now during the day it warms up and thaws the ice. now all the water is going to flow out there and since the leak is before your house you have no pressure to push the water through your house. good job on fixing it!
