JVG is not too sure about Alston. The other day, he said that "Alston says he hurt' and made some comment, rather loudly actually and said "TRADE HIS ASS TO ATLANTA THEN!!" However, this can't be confirmed that it's Alston that he's talking about.

In Alston's defense, everyone that meets him says he's EXTREMELY courteous and polite and is a VERY nice/ shy-spoken type guy.

Anyway, they're looking to move Wesley in a BIG way. That's all he said.

AND....sorry for all you Swift lovers.....but....

....they're shopping Stromile and had a conversation yesterday about him but I do not know who it was with. He did say that teams wanted him for 'that talent-salary ratio.' He said JVG is really perplexed by his team's age, wants to move Wesley, has actually talked with 1 team about Stromile leaving and said to ship someone's ass to Atlanta.

Not too much but it's a little. I'll let ya know more when I hear it. I just heard this tonight (Fri).

Good to know they understand there is a real problem here and they're working to fix it in the short term.

Thanks for the info Doc...any idea who we would get in return if we were to do a deal with Atlanta? I can't imagine them sending some of their young talent in exchange for Wesley in particular? :/ ....

Wow. Let the speculation begin!

Sounds like Swift may be kicked out of the doghouse and onto another team. Wesley has been playing much better of late, so he's getting more trade value. I don't know what to make of Rafer. Seems like he's having a hard time adjusting to Van Gundy's style. We need a backup 3 and a four who will do what we hoped Swift would. (and still might, with time... as long as things are kept simple for him :( )

I respect Doc, but I just can't envision JVG saying "trade Wesley's ass". David has been a real professional and JVG is respectful towards his players.

He didn't say he was talking about Wesley. He didn't know who the player was. Most likely that would be something he'd say about Stromile, possibly Rafer.

It would have to be for Al Harrington because is the only one the roster who make some kind of money. Hawks are not going trade Joe Johnson or Zaza P.
Stro and Wesley for Al Harrington?

He said that a statement of that context was made but it was unknown of which player he was regarding...

well some of this makes sense...if are in fact big on trading Wesley then that explains all his minutes he's been getting...it's a way of showcasing him...JVG also, I'm sure, realizes that Wes plays better as a starter than a reserve...

I'm really shocked to hear that about Stro though...I would think that its way too early to give up on him right now, but he must have an attitude problem...he's been playing better of late and clearly has the talent...so he must be showing a reluctance to learn and work harder...

great insight tho Doc, appreciate it :)...

Why would they look to trade Stromile this soon? I mean, it is AMAZING that they would sign him, knowing his past, and be looking to trade him already!!

I doubt anybody wants a 5 million dollar slow, undersized 2 guard who can't shoot, rebound, pass, or play defense.

Sounds like an attempt to replicate last season (trade, trade, trade), and a built-in excuse if things flame out in the first round again.
