Oops sorry... As I was saying,I know we're looking for a Pg in the East, but can't we try to get Brand and the Clip's 1st rounder in order to get TJ Ford? I know he's rookie and not that big,but he's one hell of a play maker!Plus,he's a homer!! ALA
a la.. last I heard, TJ is staying in school for another season. It would be kinda hard to get him next year if that is still the case.. or has that changed?
Hey Rockets R' US Do you really think the Rockets are going to sign 3 former players (Horry, Cassell, and Davis)? While we're at it, why don't we just resign World B Free, Derrick Chievous, and Dave Feitl?
Oops again... Yeah I know! Well I've heared from ppl here and from nbadraft.net that he was coming out this year after all.Though in the hang out I heared some news that he got injurned in a friendly game, does anybody know if that'll affect his decision?(ie:injury) ALA
How about Danny Fortson? The guy has incredible rebounding numbers and from what I hear he's being shopped by GS. (But then again I hear too many things... ) How about: EG+(whoever) for Fortson+their #1 pic I don't know how it works salary-wise though... ALA
yeah! i'm totally pumped about getting fortson as well. but i dunno about exchanging griffin for him though. he might be had for less...
That was just an hasardius proposition.I have no idea what is Fortsons value at the moment ,but i agree he is worth less. Any idea?Anybody? ALA
if GS is worried about arenas leaving, and he probobly will leave, then maybe fortson could be had for moochie? i think boykins is a FA also. that would leave GS completely vulnerable at the PG spot. moochie always plays his best against the warriors and makes around the same $$ that fortson does (i believe). this would be one of the best trades for us that i can think of. fortson isnt the exact PF we are loking for. by that i mean he is a little undersized, but thats ok because yao is a little oversized he is a GREAT rebounder, and isnt as bad as cato on offence. the one glaring problem i see with him is his on-the-ball defence. most of the time western PF's can just turn and shoot over him.
WE will look like an IDIOT ( once again) if we get MALONE........Expensive... with limited peformance away from Stockton and about two years playing life left in him! This is only a stop gap fix and is not a good trade/signing for the future of the Rox.
HAHAHAHA If we could get Fortson for Moochie, Dawson should win the Executive of the Year Award before the season even starts. That is a no brainer for the Rockets. I don't see GS doing it.
Losing Mobley and moving Franchise to the 2 are the best things that could happen to this team. Getting rid of Griffin won't hurt either. I know he's young, but he has all the lazy tendencies you want to stay away from. As for a potential PG to fill the void, just look at the calmness Rod Strickland brings to the floor for the Twolves. You've got Hudson running around with his head cut off, and then Strickland comes in and plays lick a professional.
My initial reaction to the idea of Karl Malone in a Rocks uni is to vomit in my mouth. My second reaction is that he is actually exactly the type of player the Rocks need, a tough PF who is a scoring threat and a good rebounder. Then I vomit in my mouth again. Then I think he probably wouldn't be nearly as effective without Stockton. Then I think maybe he could teach some of the other Rocks how to play the game of basketball, how to set picks and move to the basket and what-not. Then I vomit in my mouth again.
if you check out thier stats head to head its about even. stat - moochie - danny ppg: 4.4 - 3.5 rpg: 1.9 - 4.3 apg: 2.4 - 0.7 spg: .67 - .53 bpg: .05 - 0.00 fg%: .406 - .370 3p%: .244 - .000 mpg: 16.8 - 13.1
Why do so many think moving Francis to the 2, and trading Mobley, is going to make the team better? Is Steve a better shooting guard then Mobley? Would Steve even be in the top 50% of SG's, in the league, if he were playing that position? How can he be expected to guard the taller SG's in the league, when he can't even cover half the PG's in the league? Sure Francis would be better at the 2 then the 1, but does that necessarily make the Rockets better? or just Francis stats better (less turnovers)? I think HP mentioned a trade for Kidd, or something the other day. Perhaps trading Francis would be the best thing for this organization. What could we get for Francis & Mobley? How about a 3 way trade with the Clippers, and another lottery team (Chicago for exp.) for Brand, Miller (or crawford) & Richardson. The Bulls gets Francis and ?, and the Clippers get Mobley , a top 5 draft pick (?) and ?. We would get a pass-first PG, a great 3 pointer SG/SF in Richardson (quentin), and the PF or our dreams. Clippers know they are loosing Miller, Brand and about everybody on their roster next year, BUT WOULD THEY TRADE IN THE SAME CONFERENCE. Chicago can turn a top pick into a flashy PG (Francis), and if they act fast! they can trade Jay Williams for ?
Yes he is. Better scorer, better shooter, better playmaker. I think we all agree that Francis is a better player overall over Mobley regardless of position. Of course. Probably in the top 10. Taller SG's are slower than quicker PGs thus Francis will be able to his HIS quickness against the taller SG's. And on the flipside, what are the taller slower SGs going to do to stop the quicker Francis? You don't think Francis is in the top 50% of SG in the league but are willing to state he would be better at the 2 than the 1. That means you think Francis as a PG is less than the top 50% in the league? I doubt anyone would agree with you on that one. Francis would be better at the 2 as he would not have to create as much for his teammates but more for himself and thus less turnovers. You subtract Mobley from the equation and have a pass first higher assit/lower turnover PG and this team becomes more efficient. Perhaps, but it won't happen. Trade speculation is fine but let's focus on trades that do not involve Francis and Yao since they won't be traded. It just is not going to happen. Not this year. We can revist in a few years.
