Despite that, they are still something like 12 million under the minimum. But I think they will end up trading for some 1 year deals from teams that want to get out of the luxury (such as Lorenzen Wright), like what we did with Utah and Rice.
If that's the case then Char is a perfect example of a team you want to involve in a 3 team deal where if the Rockets want to acquire a player and the team the player is on doesnt want to "add" salary to their cap we can just send our player to Char a 2nd round pick to that team and get that player. That's what I was proposing with the Stoudamire to Houston, Wesley to "under the cap team" and a pick to Portland. The Rockets could use the same scenario with Cassell. They could trade Wesley to the Bobcats, have Cassell moved here and the Wolves would get a Trade Exception if they didnt want to move Cassell for Wesley straight up.
Why? We have no need for Croshere and get two bad contracts.. I would do it if it was Howard instead of spoon
We'd get the starting PG we need without having to give up any of our primary contributors. Sometimes, you have to take some garbage to get the player you really want. Besides, Croshere can play the 3/4 & would add some size/mismatches to the 3 position. He's got good range on his shots & he works hard on the floor. Also, his contract is for only 2 more years.
wesley + moochie + rights to malik badiane for jamal crawford + gd it nothing works out edit: spelled wesley wrong...
The only way Fisher could be in the equation is if he is a lux tax amenesty cut and the LLE is all he can get--not likely, but relatively plausible.
I think a great deal would be to send Spoon and Wesley, our two biggest expiring contracts, and 1st rounder to the Warriors for Fisher and Dunleavy Jr. I hear that Mullin doesn't like Dunleavy at all, so maybe he'd be willing to trade him for cap space and a pick - stranger things have happened. Anyway, I think that Dunleavy would be a great 3rd or 4th wheel on a championship team. I think his shooting and passing would make him a great fit here (and maybe JVG could improve his defense too). With him at SF and T-Mac at SG, with either Head or Sura at PG, you've got a BIG lineup.
Perhaps, but he is currently known as the poster who figures "If I ignore all these Scarvajal questions, maybe they will go away."
You only had a couple of drinks. It would have taken a case of brews to forget how bad Badiane was this past summer. Badiane could find a full time gig in a Hen House, he's great at laying eggs....
what about carlos arroyo? i mean kid went from the startin PG @ utah to now billups backup who avgs only 15 mins / game.... can we possibly trade moochie + ward for him?
he sucks... he just looked good coz he was in the "sloan system" back in his utah days.. but now, he's having a hard time just backin up billups... i think he's an overrated player.
Coming up with these assumptions about Carlos' ability to play in the NBA is ludicrous. Why people say things like this is beyond me, perhaps their pet at home doesn't lick them as much as the happier posters on this board. Just a thought. What is undisputable, and honestly, I could care less if Carlos plays here or anywhere else in the NBA, is the fact that Carlos destroyed our dream team in the Olympics, he played very well for the Jazz, and Larry Brown traded for him and subsequently vouched for him even after he was strugging to adapt to Larry Brown's style of play. To just make an assumption after he was traded midseason without training camp is flat-out silly.
