I hardly think that my vote is as unlikely as your's. Sacto didn't ship out Bobby Jackson and bring in Bonzi in order to dump their PG for nothing. Perhaps Bibs might be available at the deadline but not now.
Tinsley is making $5,400,000 and is an expiring contract according to HoopsHype. A 2 for 1 is technically a possibility, but I just can't see Indiana trading their starting PG, it makes no sense.
Arroyo had some nice games for the Jazz before he landed in Sloan's dog house. He's young and is more of a pure point just what we need, but why would the Pistons give him up? Sam Cassell is an injury waiting to happen. He'll challenge Sura for the most injured Rocket if we pick him up. I don't know what Mutombo's money situation is, but Dallas still has it's MLE availabe and I'm sure they would be willing to give him a good chunk of it. Dampier is just to foul prone for them to rely on him and Bradley is going to retire.
Nope. The Kings would never let him go. IMO it's J-Will, the former Grizzly. Some will say he can't be traded for some period of time, but that's not true. He can be traded -- alone -- for one or more players matching his salary at any time by Miami.
I'm not sure I understand. If we make a better offer than NY, why would NY get him over us? What does NY have to offer? I know they have Tim Thomas and Penny as expirings but we have the expirings that would be close to equaling Snow's contract. So, I don't know who is in more of a "Playstation Mode": Me or the guy who wrote the article saying the Knicks might pick up Snow. I heard they are taking a closer look at Ollie now anyway.
He's not expiring. On hoopshype, when they have blank spaces instead of $0, that means that the contract does run into those years but they don't know the exact figures.
Interestingly enough, if one of the owners of the Hawks manage to screw up the Johnson deal, they will need to get some players to fill up their minimum salary requirements. Spoon and Ward/Moochie could be easily used for that purpose while still providing a minimum amount of playing value(more Spoon than the others). Since they are expirings, the cap hit would clear after this season so that they could AGAIN attempt to lure a decent FA to ATL. Since they are so far under the cap...we could easily send them two expiring contracts and get nothing more than a second and a TE in return.(or just a TE) I realize it isnt real probable, but it is possible if things go south with the negotiations between ATL and PHO (PHO is threatening to re-sign JJ and keep him if the owner of the Hawks shoots down the SnT[see thread in Dish for details]) just a thought....IF this scenarion were to come true, it woul dclear us some money to avoid the LuxTax AND open up roster spots for Baxter and Glover.
I forgot that they signed Jasivicous (sp?), he's a point guard, right? That would make Tinsley expendable.
I believe that Pietrus would be a perfect SG for us. He plays D and can shoot the three. How about Childress? If the Hawks truly get JJ, can he get enough playing time? Remember they need also to develop Marvin Williams...He's quick and athletic though he's not a shooter
Patricia has it as a 6 year $39 mil extension. He shot 37% from behind the arc last year, and he's 6'3. Anyone know anything about his defense? Since Indiana just signed Jasikevicous (PG) to a 3 year deal, would they be looking to get rid of Tinsley? I haven't read any rumors saying they want to deal him, but if they do, a Ward plus Wesley ($1,870,000 + $4,950,000 = $6,820,000) deal for Tinsley ($5,400,000 * 1.25 +$100,000 = $6,850,000) would work (Tinsley is a BYC player, how does that affect the trade again?). A trade could only happen (no matter who we give them) if Indiana is desparate to get rid of his contract. My guess is that Indiana is not that desparate, so we probably don't have a shot at Tinsley. Anyone heard anything about Indiana's view on Tinsley at this time?
