I wish he did. Derek Fisher always seemed to be one of those players that wasn't great but came up with great plays and clutch baskets when it came down to it. He knows the game and knows his role well which is always nice to add to a championship caliber team.

I think you are looking at fish the way I am. I could really care less about his contract, since its just the MLE. He IMO is a great fit, who is clutch with championship experience. I think his intangibles with clutch abilities make him worth the money..

Well I've heard Toronto is making an offer to Chris Duhon and he will sign it. Chicago will probably match. But this means Toronto is also probably looking to deal Alston. How about:

Wesley + Mike James for Rafer Alston + Morris Peterson.

    Any takers? Sound fair?

I'd take NVE over Fish anyday.

I know you mean the LLE, but I'd rather tough it out with a younger, quicker guy than sign Derek Fisher. Although he would be the first player since Yao's been here that could regularly execute the post entry pass.

What he knows is that there's no way we take on Fisher contract (which will be paying him around $7million+ when he's 35) without also getting someone like Pietrus.

No I don't have inside information on Fisher. But it has been speculated that Fisher or Foyle is likely to be a lux tax causalty for GS. Fisher has an atrocious contract for a back-up PG that goes on 5 more years, it would not surprise me in the least if he was waived using the amensty provision. The only way Fisher will be a Rocket would be if he was waived for the amnesty provision, and he signed for the LLE. Not likely, but not inconceivable. I'd take him for the LLE, and before NVE. We absolutely would not take on his contract otherwise, I can't fathum a trade with GS that both teams would take. After taking many years to only have one questionable long term contract (Howard in a couple years), we would not considering adding a bad contract lightly. We would only consider one heck of a special player (a player a lot better than what we can land with an MLE on the open market) to do so. This is a point a lot of fans here have yet to grasp.

Carlos may not suck, but he definetly, unequivically, isn't as good as the two PGs we have. Just compare what Mike James did in the regular season and playoffs for Detroit versus Arroyo, and James had a shorter adjustment period.
Mike James is just a better player, as if Bobby Sura. Arroyo's 4year 16 mil contract doesn't look likely to be of solid value.
