For those who can't read, here is what the OP has said already in post #6 at 6:41pm YESTERDAY: Please spend reasonable effort to read it at least 3 times more.
Are you dumb? Are you aware that they say it clearly in the news that it is only what some Magics fans have proposed and said?
and if you read most of my posts in here, I was just explaining that sina.com is bs. why so angry guy?
ROFL, why would I be angry? Or perhaps you are the one who is angry now? Face it, you have been postings in this thread talking like they have reported it is a breaking news or something. I just find it absolutely hilarious that you guys can't even read or just simply too lazy to read even though the OP has clarified it already YESTERDAY.
Sorry Hayesfan. I might have worded my post too harshly. I understand that sometimes people do read the thread topic only and reply to it without reading the whole thread. I just found it funny that so many people have missed the clarification of the OP. I didn't mean to offend you and anyone else.
hedo would be an incredible third option; he has size, can rebound decently, great passer, and of course a solid 3 point shooter and underrated scorer. reddick isn't as bad as a lot of people say; he's basically head with more size and better passing.
Nobody has answered my question of how we match up with teams defensively after this trade. SG T-Mac SF Hedo Are you guys content with T-Mac essentially taking over Battier's role of guarding the more difficult 2/3 assignment? T-Mac playing great offensively and average defensively for four quarters is already an issue. Imagine him guarding the Kobe's of the world. There's not much to like about this scenario. Whatever we would gain offensively with Hedo's versatility and clutch shooting we give up on the other end defensively.
I think Orlando depends on Hedo too much to trade him. Battier is an excellent defender and shooter, but Hedo is the guy who runs the show from the perimeter (despite the fact that he only gets paid a fraction of what Rashard Lewis gets paid). I also think the Rockets want to a guy to the McGrady/Battier wing combo, rather than replacing Battier unless we are talking about getting a clear star player. I see Hedo being at a level similar to Mike Miller, and a couple of years ago, the Rockets had a choice between Miller and Battier and chose Battier. The Rockets still need Battier's defense too much to sacrifice him for a very good, but not elite offensive player who plays mediocre D. But in any case, this particular suggested transaction is based on some blogger's speculation. Not news.
I didn't say he's a solid player nor did I question his value to the team but lets just say this messageboard rumor WAS true, I can't believe how some are hesitant on trading Battier for Hedo. He's our best defensive player, but that doesn't mean he's irreplaceable. You lose SOME defensive options if you trade away Battier but it's not like the Kobe Bryants or the LeBron James of the world were having a hard time scoring against him.
its from a fan blog already but well, the kid tried. at least someone out there still values his services
I am not too concerned about Jazz if our team is healthy, even we don't match up well against them. It is the Lakers -- predicted as a Dynasty to come by JVG -- that worries me. We need Battier against Kobe.
again bowen is a great defender (still is) and look what happened. good offense always beats good defense. we always send battier a ton of help anyways when he guards the great scorers. it's not like it's 1-on-1. we need offense. we've been too reliant on our defense and it hasn't gotten us anywhere. in the past 3 playoff appearances with tmac and yao, if we had a 3rd scorer, we would have gone very far. a balanced offensive team can overcome a lot. we've seen that our great defense can't overcome our offensive weaknesses.
Reminds me of a joke someone told me years ago: Q: What do an elephan and a blueberry have in common? A: They are both blue, except for the elephant.
how da hell did battier shut down kobe?! lmao kobe always touches us majority of the time, he shut him down ONCE this year, and all of a sudden hes the kobe stopper lolol
I doubt Orlando would do this, but for everyone concerned about who will stop the premier wings in the league. Has anyone ever thought of the energy those wings would have to use if they actually had to guard someone. No one guards Shane, period. So when He guards Kobe, Kobe has the energy to get off a lot of shots because who is going to guard a standstill guy? When great offensive players have to also play against great offensive players, its a wash. If Tracy had to guard Kobe, it would be a problem because on the other end Kobe would have to spend the same energy guarding him. Just a thought.
Battier for Hedo is a bad trade for the Rockets Some people are like:"hey look at Hedo doing all those dazzling clutch shots! hey look at his scoring man" but what Battier brings to the table defensively is much more than what Hedo brings to the table offensively... Battier scores 10 points and prevents 20 points from the opposition's best scorer. Hedo scores 20 points while preventing 5 points from the opposition's typical SF. I wonder which one I'd prefer... Remember people... Offense Wins games, Defence Wins Championships Just ask the Celtics
