Oh, sorry, two corrections. I just skimmed thru and didn't pay attention and didn't catch everything.

    1. It was by Yang Yi. So there is some added credibility.

    2. It did say that BBarry accepted it on 7/4 early morning. As we all know, he can't sign it just yet.

Hope didn't mislead too much. :)

Tell me where is this negativity coming from. Show me when and where Yang Yi lied.

    WOW

If this is true, then this is FAR from worthless. My apologies.

I think even the BB thing really falls through, we are fine with Fisher in the plan B. Anyway, we are one of the marquee teams in the league now, so we don't need to worry about anyone wants to come.

If the Rockets are in Houston and Yao Ming is in Dallas, wouldn't it stand to reason that any leaks on this topic would surface in Texas before China, Seattle, Los Angeles and anywhere else reporters are saying this? I've yet to see any source I am familiar with report that the Rockets have made Brent Barry an offer. I'm very weary of these reports.

edit: but then, I just noticed my post count. I'm not sure if I can be trusted.

That is sth called personal connection. Can you imagine Yao beconfidant to an American reporter?

I am not saying this is true. But I haven't found Yang Yi not trustworthy.

I can't imagine any celebrity trusting any reporter anywhere. I don't care what race, nationality, sex or sexual orientation!

Furthermore, Yao isn't the only person that would know about this. In fact, there are who knows how many people in the Rockets organization that would know it before Yao does. And you know what, when those people know some of them may gossip to other employees. Or perhaps a secretary over hears and tells her boyfriend. etc etc etc. Somehow I'd think a Houston reporter would have the first shot at hearing this news and nobody has reported it in Houston yet.

Yep and they got it from the Rocky Mountain News.

Didn't a thread using this article already get locked or deleted this morning?

Nothing is done until it is actually reported by the teams. There's nothing but rumor of an offer at the moment.

Come on! Give me a break.
Yang Yi was nothing but someone who sold his bestfriend's personal talk for some BREAKING news.
Yao has already refused to tell him anything important since last year!

How could Yang Yi right now know all the details about any trade?
How culd he know all the phone talks between Dawson and FAs?
how could he know what CD says to JVG?
    How could he....?????

Sounds like he is an important figure, right? But it is all in his IMAGINATION.
He knows Yao would never ever sue him and he can keep on being so creative.
The fact is at least 80% of chinese bball fans already consider him a jerrk and more and more american bball fans are going to know that.

Yang Yi likes to blend his thought/assumption/hint and Yao's word in his articles which are misleading.

Do not pretend that you are the collective voice of chinese hoop fans.

This artical is interesting and it does provide some interesting information. I like it that "13 guards showed interest in playing for rox'.

one unique aspect of yao ming - yang yi relation is that their relation was built BEFORE yao become the celebrity he is now.

    it makes all the difference.

I can't stop laughing whenever there is a Yang Yi article, 95% of the posters jump out ready to bash the hell out of him. Accept it, Yang Yi is a lot closer to Yao Ming than 100% of the bashers here. His report, while in need to be taken with a grain of salt, has a lot more insider info than all the bashers here. His insider info actually come from the real insider, Yao! Those are 200% more creditable than Chad Ford's so-called "ESPN Insider".

Here are the things mentioned in his report that I haven't seen from anywhere else. If these are true, then he is the first media guy to break it. We will soon find out.

    1. As of the morning of July 4th, Beijing time, Brent Barray has agreed to ACCEPT Houston's 4-year $24 million contract. It mentioned that Barry is not a lock since contract cannot be signed until July 14th.

    2. Four days ago, Dennis Lynch called Yao. He said Yao didn't need to worry about the inferior quality of the new PG. The only difference will be style (thus equally effective). Also, Lynch said there has been 13 point guards that contacted Rockets, including Fisher, Barry, Hudson, Snow, Arroyo, and Waston. Hudson is ruled out because of he is a score-first point guard. Snow is ruled out because he is already 31 and has a 5-year contract, 3-point shooting is also suspectable. Watson still need to prove himself more. Arroyo is ruled out because of his poor 3-point shooting. That leaves two left: Barry and Fisher. Barry is offered first for his league 2nd best 3-point shooting and height.

    3. CD is still high on Gaines. He was known for his defense and stable play in college. Also he is 6-6. Gaines may well be the first PG to come off the bench.

However, yang yi 2004 does have a big issue. he personally does not think rox trade for tmac is a good one. ever since the trade he has been putting out articles where he manipulate the insider information he get from yao and spin them into an negative attack over tmac-yao combo. his last article (that was posted here by some poster where he was saying that yao kept calling SF since the trade and never call tmac so far) is a perfect sample.

but even a biased insider is more valuable than a no-nothing outsider who keeps bashing this insider/
