Some element? It's usually a broad swipe.

He disparaged about half the country with the bitter clinger remark.

Rev. Wright's comment speaks for itself.

    Ditto for Michelle Obama.

In sum, they are part of an elite that looks down on most of America. To them, the people outside their liberal cocoon are "bitter clingers". It's the "What's Wrong with Kansas?" attitude. I have no doubt that in Obama's mind he thinks we are not worthy to have him as a leader

In context Wright's comments that you mentioned do speak for themselves. (He's made other ones which aren't defensible)

In context so do Michelle Obama's.

Half the country are not fundamentalist people paranoid about their guns.

Out of context none of those statements speak for themselves.

Maybe half of the country was looking to be pissed off about something. Do you remember the rhetoric coming from Palin, Rush, and Beck during the election?

Commies, Marxists, union thugs, socialists... whatever they could say to scare people into a frenzy, people just ate it up.

There was never any intention for Republicans to work with Democrats. We are too polarized.

btw, i'm not a democrat and my girlfriend is a republican.

Obama never had any intention of working with Republicans.

I'd imagine that having a conversation with you in person would be the equivalent of speaking to a pile of rocks. You are an embarrassment, not because of your fringe beliefs, but because of your overall ignorance.

Looks like I struck a nerve with you. Many people did vote for him for that reason alone.

He didn't? Then why are all the ideas in Obama's health care legislation Republican ones? Why did he call them in repeatedly and ask them for input, and the Democrats started using all the Republican ideas?

Why did Obama take the Republican ideas of tax breaks for research and development and new hiring for small businesses and extend them even farther than Republicans had previously advocated?

It may not look like he was working with Republicans in those policies because once Obama got on board with the Republican ideas the Republicans decided they were against it, but the record is clear they were all initially Republican ideas.

Using the Wall Street Journal op-ed to make a point is no better than me using the Village Voice (if it still exists?)

The ethics and politics of this country are so out-of-whack, it's just so unreal. Naturally as the richest most powerful country on earth we don't think to make life better for people who are out of work or hungry, or for improving relations with the rest of the world. No, oh, no; what would we be the point of that?

I don't idolize Obama, but basically, he became President and tried to extend an olive branch to the other side which had no intention of working with him. Obstruct, duck, let FoxNews spin 24/7, let a bunch of rabid reactionaries build up the Tea Baggers party---can't let a Muslim Nee-gro Socialist non-American be President, after all---and when three years have passed, throw their energies behind some other suckhole who's as selfish end myopic as George Bush ever was.

But at least we have basso to post a new thread, right? Other than starting new worthless threads and getting caught in mid-jerking off by his Gramma ("I thought I told you to go to bed----WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?!?"), what else has he got?

I'm done feeding the troll, however. It just makes him stronger. Fatter and more flatulent, perhaps, but the troll won't die if we feed it.
