    I'd say about 1 out of every 4 or 5 of my FWB situations goes south now.

    Back when I was a lot less careful and a lot more stupid, it was probably 5 out of 5

    um, not always. had a couple of friends with benefits and that is all that it ever was...for both parties.

    ages 0-28, 47-65

    gap periods
    28-47: give love and marriage a "good run". kids are off to college, irreconcilable differences to follow,.
    65-**: we're still alive? plus this housework dialysis and trips to the pharmacy takes too much energy now, lets live out the rest of our years together doubling up the effort and content.

    My friends with benefits situations usually ended up fine until I started dating someone seriously and the new gf would run the FWB right out of my life (which is understandable). I've had lady friends who have been FWB off and on for almost ten years. They disappear when I get in a committed relationship and somehow know when I'm single again and pop back up for some more action. I do think those days are over for good this time but it is interesting to think back on it all.

    Yep. Had a really good friend that became a FWB, which was awesome for a long time. Unfortunately it wound up messing up our friendship.

    I had a really awesome FWB once in college. Then she developed feelings... and then I sorta did too later on. Then we dated. Then things went downhill.
