DST is mainly for cities up north like Seattle, Boston, Minneapolis, etc. If they kept DST during the winter, the sun wouldn't rise until like 9am. On the flip side if it was standard time the whole year, the sun would rise like around 4am in the summer which is waaayyyyyy to early for alot of people. Personally I wish they keep it DST the whole year around.
