I would like to see what this lineup could do. Could be devastating in stretches if deployed in the right circumstance.
Beveley and Lin are likely both better than Parsons. Parsons is the most overrated Rockets player due to his handsomeness.
not sure if serious. Parsons is going to come on strong as our number 3 this year. I have high aspirations for him. I admit I orginally thought parsons was a scrub out of league in a year ryan bowen kind of guy. Boy was I wrong.
Chandler Parsons is the most average NBA player in the league as measured by RAPM (Offensive RAPM is the x-axis, defensive RAPM is the y-axis): He is not a bad player, but gets more attention than most similar players due to his looks. Nobody would care about him if he looks like Omer Asik or Josh Smith.
fair point maybe but he is still more meaningful to this team than bev, lin, asik only exception being howard and harden. So you can throw any x or y axis at it in my book he is our best 3rd option and its almost clear cut. Perhaps being average will get you to #3 on the rockets and maybe that says more about the rockets than anything. Maybe not as good as we think we are. Well I think we are better than that even, and I expect big things from parsons. Dude can be not ugly and be a good player. One doesnt have to do anything with the other. Sounds like you read a little too much TMZ.
Lol nö way is Parsons better than Omer,he was the Second best Player Last Season and if it wouldn't be for him we wouldn't make the playoffs Last Season. I basically agree with Carl Asik is really underrated
He's arguably better than Parsons. In what aspects besides volume of scoring is Parsons actually superior in?
I think it says more about player fit and player roles than anything. I also agree that Bev and Lin are more skilled; however, in terms of fit, both of their talents and skills are masked by Harden's. Many wonder how Lin would perform without Harden (we do have a fair sample size if we included his time in NYC), but I wonder how Beverly's career would look like. Yes, he lacks the playmaking abilities that Lin has, but the man's offensive skill set is undeniable. He, like Lin, can drive and get to the basket; he, if Howard is fully healthy, is the second most athletic player on the team, and he can shoot off the dribble and off the catch. He's a scoring PG in my book and a pretty good one at that, and if allowed to play more aggressively, he might... iono... BEAT DERRICK ROSE... nah, jp... but he might take out his knees tho. Oh yea.. and dat defense!
I also agree that asik is underrated. I also think that parsons is better than asik. Parsons is our x factor and a huge piece of what we end up doing this year. Its okay if you dont agree and I dont think asik is bad. I just think parsons is that much better. It has nothing to do with his looks.. Im just sold on the guy same way I am sold on asik and twin towers.
The most overrated Rocket currently is Beverley. Love him off the bench but those calling for him to start are being shortsighted. Bev is a defensive specialist, much like Brewer. It is the playmakers like Harden, Lin and Parsons that make this Rockets offense go. And for Dwight, the best low post passers now on this team will be Lin and Brooks IMO.
yeah interesting the opinion on here about depth chart order of importance to team . What say you? If you were to rank players 1 and 2 are even howard and harden. 3.parsons 4.asik 5.Lin 6.Bev 7.Garcia 8.Dmo? 9.Cassipi 10.smith? 11.Brooks? seems to be a real debate here about of 3-6 player
If the team's squares were colored but not labelled, and I didn't know what team they were from, I would have said this is a team that has two defensive superstars, one offensive superstar, a large bunch of solid rotation players, and a few really poor defenders.
There is just no way that <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/jDztCEc2ylo" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> is anywhere close to the impact player that <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/TtoD9NIqQqw" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> is for the <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/vqBVp3AsBKU" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Parsons is a useful perimeter glue guy who does a lot of good things but nothing at an elite level. A dominant paint protector/rebounder is just by its nature a more important impact player.
Agree to disagree since its splitting hairs. Both are important in many ways. I just happen to think parsons is going to be more important overall for rockets. I want my 5 seconds back after the 2nd video. So CH what is your stance on twin towers? State your stance. take a stand. Duly noted you think parsons is overrated.
It's not a matter of opinion. It's just a fact that finding a perimeter glue guy is much easier than finding a legitimate paint protector. Much easier and cheaper, for example, to find a Francisco Garcia, Carlos Delfino, Corey Brewer types out there (by trade or free agency) who can give you 85% or 90% of what Parsons gives you than it is to find someone who can be trusted to give you 85-90% of what Asik provides. There is a very good reason why the Bulls refused to part with Asik for Courtney Lee (a.k.a., the SG version of Chandler Parsons).
