Well said! Dwight's busy blowing up, people, and the Lakers and their fans can just sit in their own juices and fume in frustration. They blew it.
You said based on the size of his shoulders, he has the potential to build mass on his lower-half as well. And all I was saying is not necessarily. Just because, say, his arms grow well doesn't mean he will get the same results out of his calves... or whatever part of his lower body. Just ask a bodybuilder if all of his muscles respond in the same way.
Shoulders don't compare to ankles and calves. They are larger, stronger, muscles, like the hip of the upper body, basically. Calves and ankles compare more to forearms/wrists. You should know that. If Dwight can get that kind of potential out of his larger muscle groups, like the deltoids, then he should have similar potential in a similar muscle group, like his hips or even thighs, which are comparable to his upper arms.
That one arm pull up!!! Even when he grimaced, it looks like he is smiling. Maybe we are wrong all this years....
His trainers have avoided squats even since before his back injury (they do this with a lot of the taller players) because of the natural hyperflexion in his back.
fixed. This is part of his workout from the Orlando days: Leg Press • Assume position on Leg Press machine with feet slightly wider than hips • Lower weight sled with control until knees are bent at 90-degree angle • Drive weight up by extending legs to start position • Repeat for specified reps STACK-IMAGE-Dwight-Howard-Leg-Press Sets/Reps: 3-4×6-8 Rogowski: We like to do multi-joint exercises when possible, and this is a great one for the lower body. It gets all the muscles around your hips, knees and ankles stronger. We generally go heavier on this, because it is a safer exercise. You’re not putting the back at risk, like other exercises do, such as the Squat, [which makes] taller players’ backs go into hyperextension. For someone like Dwight, who already has back hyperextension, we try to stay away from that. We keep the reps low since we go heavy on this.
^^Yao used to do box squats with the training staff. I think I've also seen Dwight do bulgarian split squats w/ dumbbells.
He said that to SAS off the record. Meaning, he doesn't want any extra pressure or expectations heaped onto him. You love that? This reminds me of when Kobe Bryant stayed in the gym and shot a bunch of balls until the morning hours after a playoff loss, which may have been to the Rockets but I don't remember....the point is that it took the attention away from the loss and put it on Bryant's work ethic, making it a positive. Don't think Dwight wasn't taking notes.
That's what I'm talking about. Dwight understands how short the window can be. Hopefully he is drilling it into the younger players.
Howard is starting to become the Vet Leader we would need in the playoffs, even tho he is a goof the guys in the locker room will listen to him.
D12 got that chip on his shoulder from all the hate this off season from Kareem to skip to everybody who said he was a finished product to chuck and shaq to everybody period. If can start hitting those pick and pop shots it's over then he can throw in a little chandler pumfake too scary
I'm not going to jump to conclusions but i'd assume harden is probably at a strip club making it rain...
