I can't remember the last time I had fried chicken with bone in it. If I'm craving fried chicken anything, then it will be either A Chick Fil A chicken sandwich or a Wendy's chicken sandwich. But, I haven't had one of those in several months. I've usually just settled for a chicken salad sandwich from Chick Fil A if I'm craving chicken lately. I also eat a lot of grilled chicken wraps from work cafeteria. This thread is making me crave fried chicken, though. Damn.
I wasn't really crazy about any of the three options you posted (or fried chicken in general) until I moved to Seattle. Ezell's Fried Chicken. Good enough that Oprah has it shipped to her. It's like crack. Not that I'd know.
Bojangles was the shzit.......Frenchy's in 3rd ward is the best.......But if you want chicken to die for (literally), hit up any of the China Borders across the city
Surprised at all the KFC hate. I still dig their original recipe. And their biscuits are the bomb. Popeye's is really good too. Churches seems really greasy when I eat there. Keep in mind, I eat fried chicken about 4 times a year.

KFC diluted its original recipe in the mid to late 70s . The manager that I knew in Livingston TX told me that they slowly cut back on the spices to what it is now, Which is a pale imitation of what it was. There was a small chain called Youngbloods in the 60s that was great. If you go through Shreveport LA try Popeyes there it is better there then most other locations. The Popeyes on Lockwood was the best in Houston a few years ago they use to run out of chicken and close up ahead of schedule could not get there to late in the day. Do like Frenchy's but it is salty! Kroger's is good most of the time. I will give Golden Corral a try on pigbriel comment. Anybody with pig as part of his name probably likes to eat good food. Never heard about China Borders fried chicken, one more place to try.
I don't really consider chick fil-a to be fried, since it's boneless. I like KFC over popeyes, I've been to the latter once, and their breast wasn't very meaty. Plus for the same price at KFC, I get an extra side.
Frenchys when in Houston. For those who go to Lake Charles to gamble. Stay on I-10 and exit Enterprise take a right on enterprise and drive down about a half mile or so and try Reggie Balls Fried Chicken. It puts Frenchys to shame.
Popeye's by a mile. But the last time I had Popeye's or KFC (2 yrs ago?) they were tiny, malnourished pieces and overpriced consider the size. They must get the lowest grade chickens. Haven't gone back. Although the Popeye's ad for a free 2-piece meal with a 3-piece has tempted me. If you're in Florida, I actually find the Publix (grocery chain) hot wings pretty good.
sorry to tell you bro ...But that aint chicken...Ever noticed most church's chickens are near the underpass of freeways....Coincidence that most pigeons reside there.......Just sayin mane...Drumsticks look like baby legs!!!!
I like the KFC hot wings... but the KFC near me employs a bunch of asshats who'll give you dried out wings that's been sitting under the heat lamp for hours... and I don't really want to inspect every piece of chicken in front of them. What a shame.
I sent you an invite to ip but you haven't activated your account, if you don't soon, they'll take it back.
If I just want chicken and biscuits, then I go for Popeye's. If I want a chicken sandwich, then it's Chick-Fil-A.
