Season 2 was...strange...(you know what plot point I'm talking about), but outside of that, it's one of the best shows I've watched.
Completely agree with all said above. My wife, who is not a football fan, and I enjoyed every season, every episode and we were both sad when the show ended. From the very first episode to the final episode, the show did a great job of developing believable characters and well written story lines. Over the course of the show new characters were introduced that kept the show fresh. At one point I hoped that they would develop a sequel based on how the show ended (no plot spoilers in case anyone still hasn't seen it) and I guess there was some thought of doing so... but I reckon it end like all great stories, with a beginning, a middle, and an end. There were many great lines during the show, beyond the two that seemed to stick most (Texas forever and of course Clear eyes, full heart, can't lose) that reflected the great writing.
Season 2 was cut short due to a writers strike - so when they came back the next season they basically just started fresh with a lot of the story lines.
Top shows I've seen (in no order) -Deadwood -Battlestar Galactica -Game of Thrones -House of Cards -Breaking Bad -True Detective (Season 1 only) -Friday Night Lights -- A show anyone could like...even those who aren't particularly football fans. And a MUST watch for Texas residents. Never seen: The Wire The Sopranos Homeland Dexter Better Call Saul
I started watching this show last month. That Lyla Garrity looks just like p*rn star Chloe Amour. Spoiler <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/ipiXxf7krtc" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
