Does anyone here actually personally know someone that wears a burqa? I would be interested in hearing their opinion.
1. I never insulted you. 2. Every time you call it a mobile jail for muslim women, it makes you sound a lot like basso. He kept calling the ground zero mosque something about a plane part cuz it landed there.
I asked several questions and you ignored the most important ones. The fact is that among the items used in bank robberies, burqas are so far down the list as to be completely inconsequential and yet you're insinuating it's a problem that requires some law to address it. You're being absurd.
I know quite a few. A few of my friends had sisters who wore the Niqab to UH while I went there. http://thedailycougar.com/2010/03/11/face-veil-proposal-outrages-some-students/ Here are words from actual women in HOUSTON that wear the niqab, and live amongst us and do so peacefully, and shop at your HEB.
I did, he is a jackass idiot. If he has the right to call me an "Islamist" (whatever the heck that means) I have the right to label him by his posting style.
We're also used to a German Islamophobe that makes stupid generalizations about other people, and one who likes to ban freedoms under the guise of security, and is opposed to freedom of speech when it involves things he's personally uncomfortable with (say, lying about the Holocaust). Given that those things are key hallmarks of fascism, I don't think it's a stretch to wonder if he might secretly harbor those feelings in real life. I can play this game of stupidity as much as you.
Thanks for the article. She mentions that many young women are discouraged by their parents to wear the niqab, even if they insist. She doesn't explain why she chooses to wear it, though.
I never said that the risk of bank robberies should be the main reason to ban the burqa. There are enough other reasons. I was simply responding to your question. Also, to whoever it was who claimed that burqas were only used after France thought of that law: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/england/1859310.stm Thursday, 7 March, 2002, 09:08 GMT Robbers in burqas raid gem store http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/articleshow/32444730.cms Cleric held for grenade attack on church AP, Dec 26, 2002 LAHORE, Pakistan: A radical Muslim cleric who urged the faithful to attack Christians was being questioned Thursday in connection with a deadly Christmas Day grenade attack on a Christian church that left three young girls dead and 13 others wounded, police said. Two assailants covered in burqas tossed a grenade into the middle of worshippers at a Christmas Day service onWednesday in the village of Chianwala, some 65 kilometers (40 miles) northwest of Lahore. The cleric, who uses only one name, Afzar, was being detained because of his hateful remarks toward Christians made three days earlier in a sermon at a mosque in the district of Daska, where Chianwala is located, police said. http://www.cbc.ca/world/story/2006/02/02/afghanistan-suicide-bomb.html Five Afghans died and four more were wounded when a suicide bomber disguised as a woman blew himself up at an army checkpoint in eastern Afghanistan. Police said on Thursday that the blast was in Khost province the day before. Afghan soldiers were checking a vehicle when the bomber, sitting in the backseat, set off a bomb hidden under a burqa shroud, said Mohammed Ayub, the regional police chief.
While this article quotes two misguided feminists in favor of the burqa, most feminists strongly oppose it.
hah! Good job labeling them. I know both of them, and Feminists they are not. You still remain an idiot jackass.
Yes, but I am saying random stuff , spewing hate and changing directions of my conversation. Isn't that the way you prefer it?
Adeel, have you ever spoken to them about why they choose to wear the niqab? Also, out of curiosity, were they born and raised in the US? If not, where? Again, just curious.
I know, but you forgot to add that you apparently lack reading comprehension. I did not "label" anyone a feminist. The people I was referring to self-identify as such. From the article you linked to:
So you know how to use spell check, two thumbs up to you! You need to get a bigger set of balls, you get scared really quickly. Mauslims arn't out to get you, people throwing out insults does not mean they are violent people. That's just the nature of an internet forum. Its funny how you speak about freedom and crap yet you want to deny people from wearing their public jail wear. What's up with that? If some guy is forcing them to wear it, help these people get out of their marriage, but don't deny those that want to wear the thing.
