No, I'm just able to have a logical discussion without dragging in everything I hate about Islam. The reason I am not talking about women's rights in Saudi Arabia is because that's not what this thread is about and because I don't think anyone even needs to make a case for what a terrible situation it is. But how do you feel that influences France's decisions in this case? Should France ban women from walking 3 feet behind men? Should they force every woman to get a driver's license?
Mathloom, That is a very simplistic look at it. People living in fear are not exactly going to just walk out into a society in which they are no integrated. More than likely they are just going to get along with the barbaric restrictions their family/faith/culture are putting onto them, because they are fearful of the unknown. And that is not even mentioning the fear of an honor killing. DD
Unfortunately, even France cannot fix all the problems islam has with gender equality. That will be a task for islam: to reform itself and leave the medieval ages.
Why are there no videos of T-Mac passing the ball? lol Once again, it is irrelevant. I don't know why Muslims don't start those threads and frankly it's not controversial. Everyone knows it's bad and it has to change.
How? By everyone, I assume you mean everyone in the world, which is false. There are women who want to wear it by choice. They don't benefit.
Islam is none of France's business. Domestic violence and gender equality is France's business. The people of France are France's business. Unless you are saying that France is, with this law, attempting to fix a part of Islam?
Please mind your own business. They are clearly attempting to empower the women and get the immigrants to blend in with French culture. Better than kicking them out, right? DD
The law actually does not only concern Islam. It is more generic, it just happens to be met with most whining from islamists. Did you turn off your signature or was it turned off for you?
By biting and scratching another woman who didn't want her Niqab removed. Bottom line is she assaulted the woman and you are justifying that assault. By all means do I've been trying for years to get him into the He can even be Vince Murdocco.
With all due respect DaDakota, they are fully integrated and I know this because I know them day in and day out. I work with them. I talk with them. I laugh with them. I joke with them. I argue with them about the Burqa/niqab. Let's assume you are right that they are living in fear and that this law comes into effect. Do you think they will start integrating or do you think they will go into hiding? Be realistic.
Anyone who supports the ban on the burqua is supporting limiting these women's freedom. Anyone who supports forcing the women is supporting limiting these women's freedom.
Simple. That's how I see it. Except one could come up with some obscure contradiction: Anyone who doesn't support the ban of the burqua is supporting the forcing of women wearing one. ... which is BS.
I sure hope that's their intention, but still think that this is the wrong way to go about doing it. They have made these womens lives miserable, because now they can't even go to the bakery and see people. At the very least, they smiled under the veil. Now even that is gone. Now it's just them and their abusive husbands at home. EDUCATION is the right tool to empower people. One last time, this law has zero chance of getting those specific women to integrate, and you have to be crazy to believe otherwise. Do we think the abusive husband is suddenly going to be ok with his wife socializing without a niqab? That's ludicrous. Instead of going after the people who force them to wear it, France has gone after the women and pissed off the husband. Everything is worse.
Why would they have to go into hiding? Because they have oppressive husbands. And the husbands draw the main part of the justification for being oppressive out of their interpretation of islam. So your argument is "you cannot make a law that will outlaw this type of oppression because it will just lead to worse oppression", right?
French culture is also France's business and they are doing what they want to in order to preserve it. They are not interested in multiculturalism. Boo Hoo.
