thegary, I think they are delaying it to show it on NBC. Right now, NBC is showing the Soderling/Gonzalez match and skipping segments. I think they'll be doing the same thing with the Federer match once this one ends. Del Potro takes it to Federer in the 3rd. He's up 2 sets to 1. I still see Federer finding a way to win but it's become pretty interesting. I figured Federer would roll after winning the 2nd.
Actually, I guess they may not be showing the Federer semi at all since the time slot on NBC ends in 40 minutes and they are still showing the Soderling match. That's weird but I guess Soderling is in the spotlight and the Federer match was later so they couldn't guarantee to fit it into the time slot. Del Potro just saved a break point and held serve. 1-1 in the 4th.
True. They may be subject to French Open scheduling. If Federer was on court first, they may have showed that one and skipped the Soderling match. I'm really not sure.
http://www.ustream.tv/channel/vipman-tv Thats the stream I'm watching the match on. It kind of sucks because its hard to follow the ball.
Nope unfortunately looks like NBC owns the rights so the only way to catch this match is on tape delay later.
I wish I knew. By the time I get home, the match will be over. If I recall from last year they end the split channel after the quarters.
Earlier rounds were on the Tennis Channel, then they started splitting some time with ESPN2. Maybe this late in the tourney it's only NBC that has the rights? That's lame. I may have dvr'd the wrong thing today.
Most certainly and I think it's two kinds of pressure: 1) Being at this stage for the first time and 2) Roger Federer taking his game to the next level.
Ouch... after breaking Federer to even it up 3-3, Del Potro fights back from 0-40 on serve then ends up double faulting and Federer breaks back in the critical 7th game. I highly doubt Del Potro has another break left in him. This should be it...
Del Potro fights off a match point then manages to hold serve. Federer will serve for the match. I'd be beyond shocked if Federer fails to finish it right here.
