At long as my team wins, that is all that matters, right?. And yes, Le Pen was a terrible candidate just as Clinton and Trump were.

It wasn't my team that won. I'm to the left of the winner. But I prefer anyone to Le Pen.

As Liz Warren said earlier today "this isn't football. It's not about scoring points".

I don't know about you, but before Trump I just can't recall politics being scored like a game like it is now. France didn't win anything today ... they just didn't go down the path to exiting the EU, removing sanctions from Russia, and creating an alliance with Trump to create more pressure to break up NATO and destabilize Europe.

But France still has a ton of issues to take care of. They do need to work harder with us and others to stabilize Syria. They have to get their workforce in a better place. They need to assimilate immigrants better. Etc.

However I feel much much better knowing that the end of Europe as we know it isn't happening under LePen and Putin. People just don't realize how big of a deal this was in Putin going for the Hail Mary. We are seeing signs that he's feeling more emboldened after the US election, desperate to take back power from the Soviet states, and destroy western democracy.

In your mind, the "alternative" is a so-called billionaire who refuses to release his tax returns, tax returns that would show just who he owes money to, quite possibly Russian banks. A man who is busy dismantling the EPA. A man who is attempting to take away not only the reproductive healthcare millions of poor American women rely on, but the healthcare of tens of millions of Americans of all ages, ethnicity, and creeds, many of them trump voters busy getting an unpleasant surprise. A man who's closest adviser is a White Nationalist and an outright liar, a trait Bannon shares with trump, trump being a man who encouraged the Russians to hack his opponent's servers, something never before seen in American politics - a candidate actively seeking the material support of a hostile foreign power.

And you are fine with that. You are fine with not only with the blatant lies, but much more. You are fine with trump attempting to suck even more tax cuts for the rich from the t*** of the Federal government, tens of billions of dollars worth of tax cuts larded onto his "budget" for the pleasure of his rich friends and his family. You ignore historically low approval ratings from the American people (from numerous sources) for your hero, calling it "fake news," something not to be trusted. You would have us mistrust ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, American print media - any news source that doesn't conform to your narrow view of politics and the world. With all due respect, your ignorance is staggering.

She actually lost compared to two years ago, but guess that doesn't fit your narrative. Yesterday's loss was by a huge margin that is extremely rare for France.

There's a difference between seeing similarities and “equating“ someone, try to stick to what I actually write. And denying similarities in their rhetorics and agenda is impossible.

Can't trust Le Pen. Her father is an actual Nazi.

That doesn't mean that skepticism regarding the islamization of Europe is not warranted.

Macron won. Le Pen hate was too strong. I guess they will have to wonder what if everytime someone plows a truck of peace into a crowd, spilling French blood. The French should have given her a term, because Macron is more of the same failed policy. Their choice. But the anti globalist movement is gaining steam. If her father wasn't such a b*stard, she may have pulled it off. Also you guys should have bet me. I would have changed my avatar to an Eu flag to concede. Anyways nice talking everyone despite the dog pile. Gonna focus in the rockets threads for the rest of playoffs.

What would she have changed in the terrorism regard? There already is an established Muslim population in the country, she can't ship out every Muslim citizen.

Plus I bet you ISIS would've focused even more on France if she were elected, the "I'll stop terrorism" sentiments would've played right into their hands and been an open invitation.

I never said kick out all Muslims. Kick out people who came illegally for starts. Reduce the numbers of potential terrorists. Doing nothing is not working. They have attacks there on the reg now. You advocate rolling over for terrorists. Do not run for office on that platform... unless its France. They like that.

There's a slight distinction between nazi Le Pen and "rolling over for terrorists".

It's so strange to see the right-wing in the USA latching themselves onto any and every nationalistic movement in Europe/Russia. Strange and scary, actually. They were always the historical "freedom and democracy" crowd (not that the Democrats weren't).

It's pretty disgusting, you think they'd be content with Trump being elected into oval office, but now they are genuinely sad when the rest of the world doesn't follow that terrible example. Thank god there are less of these easily manipulated people in Europe, feel sad for you guys.

Don't look down on us too much, the biggest hopeful (I try to look on the bright side of life) thing I can see coming out of this election is record voter turnout in ~4 years. I think people have now realized that elections actually do have consequences.

Cool. But remember that the US candidates would have campaigned differently if the rules were different. It is not as simple as saying Hillary won the football game so let's award her as the baseball champ.

Electoral college can stay if they would split the votes like some states does, the winner take all process is the real problem.
