That's what I'm trying to understand also. It seems Americans don't like French because of the Iraq thing. But it's been proven time and time again that Bush had been lying, or "manipulating" the truth, the whole time... Go figure.
Or, maybe, we should have been secretly selling them arms, and buying their oil against the UN sanctions, like France...right?
Look, I don't want this thread to end up in the D&D forum but a lot of Americans don't like French and I'm sure they don't even know why. Heck, I'm sure they haven't even met one!
It's called mindless gang mentality.....mobilize against an enemy, even if it be fictitious or imagined.......these posters feel like they're a part of something special here....for once in their lives, they belong!

I don't have anything against the French, I just thought it was funny. Heck, what would the world be like without FRENCH FRIES and FRENCH KISSES?
It's comedy for you at the expense or denigration of other posters. The same type of "comedy" would not be tolerated here if it was about Mexicans, Israelis, or the Japanese. And for good reason, since it would offend many of our posters.

It would be one thing if only the French military was being ridiculed here. But this thread is attacking French people across the board: "The French are a smallish, monkey-looking bunch and not dressed any better, on average, than the citizens of Baltimore." "You know, the French remind me a little bit of an aging actress of the 1940s who was still trying to dine out on her looks but doesn't have the face for it."
For what it's worth pip.... I LOVE THE FRENCH. FRENCHIES ROCK. PARIS IS SUPER COOL (it is!!!), Even french canadians are super duper (how they'd get lumped in??). Catherine Deneuve is hotter than most 35 yr old hollywood actresses. And there are lots of snappy dressers in Baltimore (maybe?). I've said enough... but I get your point . Peace.
