O.K. - I'll try to answer all questions with one post. There is only ONE (1) ticket (sorry, but I'm not a radio station...). I have half season tickets which includes all remaining home games. Admittedly, the better games (including N.J., Suns, Lakers, etc.) are already claimed by family and friends of mine. However, I also have tickets to games against the Clippers, Grizz and one or two others that I have not yet given away. So, I emailed Jeff (of the ClutchCity crew) about doing something like this over a month ago. We never did come up with a strategy for giving a ticket away. Having said that, I think the winner of a 1 X 1 tourny is not a bad way of finding a "winner". And, NO, there will be no "quid pro quo" required (from Silence of the Lambs, Clarice), or anything else "weird" attached to the ticket other than playing in the tourny. I might have as a final stipulation that the winner will also have to beat me (which is not much of a challenge since I'm 41 years old and have had two ACL surgeries in the past three years...). Hope that answers the questions. I think for now we should all plan on being at the Rec center at U of H on Sunday at 12:00 noon. I want to make sure that everyone is on the same page, so, DanzelKun - Could you please post the correct address and directions. Im thinking it's just inside I-45 South, on Cullen, past Calhoun (or is it Wheeler). We are talking about the Athletic Center where they run track as well as play B-ball, right?
Yeah, the new Rec Center is at the edge of Campus, giant sumbitch, ya can't miss it! According to the University webpage map, the building is at the corner of University Drive and Calhoun. The directions given on the page are: Directions to this building from I-45 South (downtown): - exit Spur 5 - turn right on University Dr. - the building is on your left Oh, and here's a campus map: http://www.uh.edu/cgi-bin/campusmap The Rec Center is that Dotted Line building over at the Right edge of the map, 'bout half way down. And from the Rec Center Webpage: Office Location: Department of Campus Recreation University of Houston Campus Recreation And Wellness Center 4500 Holman - University Drive Houston, Texas 77204-6056 713-743-9500 713-743-9517 (fax) Now, if I can just learn to not suck at basketball...!
Cool - It'll be great to put faces with some of the Nicknames on the board. See everybody there at noon on Sunday. I'll have a ticket with me!!
Damn it! I don't think I can make it Sunday until like 3pm, but I am already playing Ultimate Frisbee at UH at 3pm. I will try to get a sitter. Who is going to play? Kam R R Us Who else?
I'll play. I live in North Carolina but I'm flying to Htown next Wednesday. When is the tournament and where will it be played at?
I'm in Sonny Oh yeah, what game is this Ticket for? Prolly be a good idea to make sure I can go to the game....
How will we recognize each other once we are there? How about all who shows up were a Rockets T-shirt of some sort?
Cool - I'll have an old Rockets Hat on (Red and Yellow). I figure if we're all at the door when it opens we can pretty much figure it out. Maybe a little sign that says CC.Net this way...
This Sunday? I might work. I have to check my schedule. If I am working Sunday, obviously, I won't be there. If not, I'll be there at Noonish.
Also, I think somebody needs to post a thread in the hangout so more people can know about this ass whooping somebody is gonna put on.
Kam - I hope you cam make it. It would be a shame if only two or three people can make it. Please feel free to post the info in the other forum (I have never visited there...). Thanks, RRU
Arg.... I tweaked my back today havin' fun shootin hoops (celebrating since it was finally sunny again >_<)... so we could say I'm "Questionable" for Sunday. If I'm feelin' like I can actually play I'll be there wearin' a white shirt but some blue Rockets shorts with red and white trim (faded Rocket logo on the short leg)... Rockets-R-Us: Did you ever mention what game the Tickets are for?
Who is the UofH represenitive? If you don't go to UH, you need to know somebody that goes to UH. It cost six bucks per guest.
damn~ i know some people who go to UH, but i'm not sure if i can talk him into going with us. even if he could go, what difference does it make? i mean we still r guest, right?
