where did I say that? I said Mchale is blackballing Lin and wants him to fail. How is that a problem? Lin probably doesn't know or care that that is his intention. Considering how he has been benching Lin in the closing minutes in every single game or giving him literally no playing time at all except the Wizards game, it does. Lowry connection was that it's obvious Mchale isn't very good at getting along with players, probably because he treats them like the way he treats Lin. Then re-read what I said, he is a racist, he is mad that Lin banged someone in his family, he is jealous, etc. who knows? It's obvious Mchale is some butthurt ******* about Lin.
People saying that they should fire McHale are delusional. Morey wouldn't fire McHale when Lowry complained why would he do that for Lin? Honestly, I don't want Mchale going anywhere. I may not be a fan of his system & may think that he hasn't done a good enough job to make the back court work but frankly the players love him to death & I value that highly in a coach. Raptors players love Dwayne Casey. Players love playing for Mike Dantoni. Seeing as how the players love McHale would it make sense to fire a guy for just one player when we wouldn't even do that when Lowry asked? Would make more sense to move Lin & bring in a SG & let Harden man the PG spot. Douglas, Delfino are all inferior SG's. Lin & Harden are redundant players right now in McHales system. McHale prefers Harden as the PG & Lin is terrible as a wing player. Things will continue to be like this for the rest of the season unless Lin learns how to be a SG, McHale lets him play PG, McHale alters his system or Lin leaves. McHale isn't going anywhere. The Rockets won so that is all that matters. But at the same time I am not a huge fan of Tony closing out quarters considering that he isn't a part of the Rockets long term plans I like to think that Jeremy is.
That's low. STFU. And I personally just lol at LOFs infatuation with Pringles. You'd hire him even if he's sacked by the Lakers? After he was fired by NYK last and is practically burning up the rep Steve Nash built him years back in Phoenix? You're just delusional. It's called a fluke. See Stromile Swift.
This is a strong possibility...the rockets need a big guy badly....lakers need some young blood...dantoni an dLin together again? with out the melo drama. How would Kobe feel about this...... and at 37 does kobe have the clout to stop this trade?>...dewight howard would LOVE Lin because he wold get the rock in a place where he could score. The lakers are going to do something.....I promise you this and they are going to do it soon......They are in big trouble right now and are desperate....Lin might be their savior. I doubt highly they woud let Chandler Parsons go....Lin and Patterson Im guessing...
I hate to do this, but I have to join the crusade with tinman. Makes me throw up in my mouth. I like Jeremy Lin too. That's a total shame.
Well, these are the same people who thought the Rockets should fire McHale in order to hire Pringles. So what do you expect? Kind of weird, because my admittedly stereotypical impression of Lin fans are smart nerds.
Lin needs to improve his spot up shooting. Its not like that's an impossible task. Chandler was a very shaky shooter last year, he kept working at it, and he's been a respectable shooter this year. If Lin became a consistent 3-pointer shooter (~35%), it would be much easier to keep him on the floor. It would really open up the rest of his game too.
How can he not finish as the PNR guard. He ranks 47th in the NBA in PPP up from 67th last year. He is 50% from 3 scoring off the PNR & is 41% at the field. But please don't let facts stop you. No I disagree with this. It isn't about him being 2nd to anybody. He was 3rd on the Knicks behind Melo & Amare & he stilll posted 18 & 8 per 36. The issue is that him & harden play the same. They are the exact same player except harden is elite whereas Lin is very good. McHale's x's & o's leave a lot to be desired & if he improved on that would probably fix the redundancy problems between the two. Or if Mchale let Lin play his natural position & put Harden out on the wing. Neither is likely to happen anytime soon. You are right prior to Harden he would have had more success here but the Rockets wouldn't have one a lot of games. With harden he is having a lot less success but the Rockets win more. Just a few thoughts.
stupid coaches. why are these idiots trying to do everything the WRONG WAY? 1) Lin is MR 4TH QUARTER. he must be in there during crunch time. 2) Lin is a pg. he must have the ball in his hands if the team is to benefit from having such a pg with the kind of skills he has. 3) Harden is a sg. he is not as effective when playing the pg position. 4) your starting pf is a wuss and making a few mid-range jumpers does NOT excuse him from not playing defense and not rebounding. and he needs to come off the bench. if anyone needs to be benched to be taught a lesson, it's this guy. 5) Delfino is no pg either, why obsession with making people play out of position? 6) Douglas brings energy but pretty much nothing else. that's why anyone with a brain does not think much of him. do NOT try to force Douglasanity! 7) once the 2nd unit does their thing, put your starters back in like you're suppose to. you want your best guys when things matters the most. your 2nd unit can only get you so far. if you don't believe this than just play your 2nd unit as your starter and vice versa. you seem to like to keep experimenting with things that obviously won't work! 8) run some designed plays if you're capable of coming up with any that's more advance than running plays just to get a player isolated. running just isolation plays is too damn predictable. you are playing 1 vs 5 offense and it's not gonna cut it when every team knows you keep defaulting to it. 9) it's NOT rocket science. all you really need to do is put the ball in your pg's hand and let him orchestrate your offense. 10) reward players who plays hard, plays defense, and team ball! do NOT reward a player who just "Looks" like they are playing well because your "eye test" SUCKS!
Lol, the explosion on the Lakers board would be monumental. Why is does everyone want Lin to go to the Lakers, he'd get eaten alive in that big market with Kobe on the team and their we-have-to-win-now mentality. I think the Lin fans, like any sports fans are just knee-jerking to Lin's benching. I'd say, like any knee-jerk response, take it all with a grain of salt.
Yeah, what team do you want him to go to? Golden State? To be closer to you? You want him to play with Tracy Mcgrady in China? go watch the ChBA, they have all kinds of guys that look like Lin.
Well this seems like the perfect thread for me to rant Im actually starting to wonder if Morey already has a trade of him in mind and that's why the coaches aren't even bothering to develop him. It's really the only explanation I would have for the minimal playing time and role they're giving him. People say "gosh who cares!!!!!!! we want to win you LOF!" but really, what exactly is the urgency of winning this year? Surely you weren't hoping for a championship from the youngest team in the league. To a rational coach this would be the year to develop this young team together until they grow into their own identity. If Lin is actually in the team's future plans then he should he getting as many minutes as Harden on the floor, through growing pains and losses. Like today, what was the reason to take him out so early in the 1st and then eventually bench him in the 4th? He was playing very good D on Rondo, made some really nice passes, yes he also had a bad sequence of TO's but who cares those are bound to happen, everyone made some stupid ass TOs today, including Rondo, once of the best PGs in the game. Wouldn't surprise me if Jeremy was overthinking things seeing as how little trust the coaches have in him. I do think they're killing his confidence and before the Internet Warriors with balls of steel tell him to grow a pair, remember that he is NOT being utilized properly, and they don't even give him a chance to get accustomed to his new role of SG. Well, at least we'll always have the Spurs game to remind us that he's still got it when he gets to play natural position and actually plays starter minutes.
Shoot, Mchale didn't want to show up his old team, the Celtics. If Lin had played, the Rockets would have won something like 191-89. Jeremy Lin with 80 points, 30 rebounds, 20 blocks, 9 assists.
