Holding bonzi out is an anti-winning tactic!! That's why I'll never believe JVG when he says he's all about winning. He needs to preface it with I'm all about winning, unless I don't like you, then that overrides winning.
I've told people for the longest time...that a coach like Phil Jackson would fit the Rockets team, because they really just need someone to manage players (most are vets), while the Lakers could use a coach like Van Gundy, to instill discipline and defensive effort into young players of the Lakers. I would say that his methods are ok, but if you're trying to get your teams to playoffs...or a serious title run, then you have to play the bad eggs as well as the good ones. When I look at the successful teams, like Heat, Pistons, Spurs, and Mavs they play very deep into their rotations, and play all players: rookies, CBA players, international players, and bad eggs. If Van Gundy ever had players like Rodman or Artest, that probably wouldn't see a light of day after one incident being on a Van Gundy roster, like Bonzi.
There's one reason why Millsap is coming off the bench so soon for hte Jazz, and that's because Boozer missed like 10 games before the All-star break, while Yao was gone we had Deke, but Utah didn't have anybody to really back Boozer up except for Millsap, it's not like JVG had to develop the bench when there were better options elsewhere.
How many more crappy performances by Snyder will it take before JVG goes to experimenting with Bonzi again?
Ive been wanting Bonzi in the rotation for quite some while. Maybe its not having Luther, but its obvious were lacking a scorer of the bench. I dont want dog Snyder. I just think Bonzi is better.
its coming, especially after the way snyder was atrocious on defense the last 2 nights. bonzi will play a big role in the playoffs.

You have to understand that so many fans a few weeks ago thought Snyder should get more time because Bonzi sucked that it may take a while to prove how much Snyder sucks to get Bonzi more time. Bonzi is the kind of player that would be valuable to have to get past Utah in the first round. He has a MEAN STREAK that we need. JVG has to see this.

Less minutes for TMac and Battier (and Head)...even more brilliant! You're not going to develop cohesion without consistency...and apparently, Bonzi isn't willing to play in an ad hoc rotation as matchups dictate (per JVG interview, the bit about being the "half" guy). Where are the people complaining about Sloan holding a lotto pick on the bench and giving him Kirk Snyder minutes in favor of Derek Fisher? Free RBrew!!!!!!!!!
Bonzi had to earn he's minutes. he has done himself no fave by refusing o be a bit-by-bit player and expect lesser minutes. if he was really seriouse, he would have excepted those minutes and worked hard on the court to prove he deerves the minutes he's asking for. he wants he's cake and eat it to. you can just expect to get 30 minutes a night on reputation if you rockup to training camp at around 260 pounds. u gotta start from somewhere.
