Unlikely players tend to have hot streaks on bad teams. Then teams bite too early and whamo, you're stuck with a lump of crap taking up a sizeable amount of cap space. Boykins is more like a good luck charm than anything else.
YEa, I agree. Boykins had a great season last year, and that Boykins would be a good addition to our /any team. But he has bounced around for several years, and was in fact out of a job when last year started. I have to feel he just got hot and had a career year.
There is only a handful of players in the league that would make the Rockets contenders. Unless Ming improves by leaps and bounds next year.
I agree with TheFreak. We should be talking about free agents who will get us the highest seed. but breaking into the real contender spots is unrealisitic. This is because teams have no chance of being a contender until your stars perform at the levels of other contending stars. Coaching changes-- complementary player changes--bashing Mobley in your signature---...all that, is just an excuse for the stars not performing. I am by no means dissing Yao...I love Yao...but he did not perform at contending level last year and neither did Francis. Our biggest issues about winning a title rest with Francis and Yao, and we simply will never when be a real contender unless they both reach their potential...or Yao just explodes in greatness (via passing or scoring).
