Yes he’d definitely play some minutes there, that’s feasible I think for 10 minutes.

Please, no. Lopez is a 35 year old center looking for his final big payday. Stick with the youth movement, add some vets for locker room and mentoring.

No I don’t believe that either, it would be a disaster. Playing two players out of position is bad. Jabari is a 4/5. Can play some 3 but not for long stretches guarding the opponents best wing. We shouldn’t be sticking Jabari static in the corner ever again. We need a lockdown defender there.

Could see that for ten minutes maybe.

With another coach maybe but Udoka is defense-first. Most likely Sengun of the bench and slowly starts winning back minutes from Lopez.

We'll see, he has a big test coming up when he's benched for a vet.

voted yes but not because we are "desperate and need an interior defender" but because we need SOME LEVEL of veteran experience

How much did he complain when he was benched for *checks notes* Bruno Fernando?

We will see, he was benched for a scrub last year and still inarguably ended up the best player on the team.
When KPJ gets benched for a rookie, I don’t think he handles it with grace

We'll see. It's entirely possible Udoka goes the same route Silas went of playing guys based on draft position rather than merit like you are suggesting. I think he'd handle it fine, but it would say a lot of bad things about the Rocket's new head coaching hire.

I also think kpj would handle coming off the bench fine. He doesn’t have a choice, he’s on a nonguaranteed contract.

Kind of, but they'd also go after Lopez to mentor Sengun, about halfway through his career he started focusing on his 3 ball, and it changed everything for him. That's the path Sengun will need to walk if he's ever going to be a starting caliber center.

I think the idea is pay Lopez enough to like coming off the bench. I want cap flexibility so I’d just go ahead and pay 2 years 56 million player option on the 2nd year. He makes 28 million to play 60 games 25 min a game.

He's going to be the starter. Sengun will be the back and learn from Brook Lopez.

He’s far more of a starter caliber than KPJ. Every scouting service and league pundit agreed

There’s no we’ll see to it. Alp is consistently the only ranked player on any list from the Rockets. That’s not debatable

KPJ was a bad point guard. He will either be benched or start at a different position because he is a bad point guard. Let's see how he handles either scenario. History says he will act like an idiot if he doesn't like what he's been told.
