Need a change of pace guy now. Jaylen Wright incoming. Was hoping Elijah Mitchell was the one we traded for.
Just traded for Joe Mixon. Needed either him or Henry so I'm glad we got one of them. Nice threat out of the backfield too. Now go get Armstead or Hunter to supplement the pass rush!
Ironically, I usually have Joe Mixon on my FFL team. He's been a pretty steady performer with a few wow games over the last few years. His video was pretty damning, and this trade is a clear divergence from previous Texans character standards. With that said, I'm not aware of any other issues beyond that college incident and hopefully he's changed his life and become a better man. As a player, I love his game.
Didn’t realize Joe Mixon is still only 27 years old (turns 28 this Summer). Not bad. He’s not Derrick Henry, but he was prob the next best option. I like it.
It's going to be very interesting seeing how the Texans treat him. Is this a one year rental we run into the ground, or do we want to lock him up until he gets over the hill (30)? This is an extreme value play by Caserio either way. Great move.
only a one year deal too that's below aaron jones money; bet they could re-sign him easily after the season
Cause they have to trade the draft capital which has a cap hold. It’s moving draft pick cap space to his contract instead of his contract to our empty space
I'm looking at this a little differently. I'm not a huge Mixon fan, but hopefully he has a top 10 RB season next year. I just think this shows poor management of the offseason. With the best FA RB class we have seen probably ever, we end up trading for one. If we gave up anything more than a 7th rounder, we screwed up. Saving cap space? We had what the 4th most cap space, a QB on a rookie deal, we've been bargain bin diving save for a good LB. This season and maybe next is when we spend on FA's so they come off books when we have to pay our on players. Then we have to finagle the cap.
