Been wondering what its at myself, here's my best guess from what I can gather of cap hits for this year Al-Shaiir - 5.66 (from Texanscap) Schultz - 7.91 (spotrac) Ka'imi - 3.6 (spotrac) Eric Murray - 1.6 (spotrac) King - 1.8 (spotrac) Foley - 2.0 (couldnt find anything, estimate) Lonnie - 2.5 (twitter) Okudah - 4.75 (spotrac) Autry - 10 (spotrac) Mike Ford - 2 (spotrac) Noah Brown - 2.5 (couldn't find anything, estimate) Townsend - 3.0? Thats 47.32M in cap hits for this year based on the numbers above, plus we need to set aside 9Mish for the draft pool. That's 56.32M of money spoken for. Im waiting for someone like Texanscap to give a complete rundown for a more firm/accurate number.
And I believe they can restructure Laremy Tunsil contract again since he still has more than one year remaining....$18 million base It would be two years in a row, so I don't know if that is allowed
Not disappointed with yesterday's outcome. I was ok with the signings of Barkley and Wilkins if that's what they were going to do, and it looks like that's what they wanted. It was obvious those 2 were going to get the most $. My likes were most option C scenarios but Caserio going for Cannon fodder with these moves when you can get them in the undrafted class or cuts in June. Lotto would still be available in June. So many guys that can help this team out are still available.
Lol don't worry about running back because we are smarter than everyone else. Defense is where it is... Eagles going for something big on defense after snagging Barkley.
This is my thinking as well. As good as we think the Barkley/Wilkins signings would've been, the amount of money they were looking for DEFINITELY weren't in our best interests. I give Caserio credit, he doesn't overpay his principles. It seems he sets his budget, and if they agree cool, if not, he doesn't mind moving on.
2nd contract rbs rarely pan out. I'm fine with just drafting a guy and picking up a vet. No need for another Ahman Green scenario...
Vikings are spending like a team that isn't/doesn't need to spend big money on a QB. Texans are not spending like a team that isn't/doesn't need to spend big money on a QB.
I think we may still have our eyes on Bosa or Mack. The reality (shout out to @Marshall Bryant ) that we just had to pay the piper for all the one year contracts and save money for Nico’s extension. So we are having to go for minor upgrades rather than swinging for the fences. I don’t think Hunter is a realistic target for us.
There's a lot of money drying up and more talent hitting from cuts. I think they have it right to wait out the market for value. We don't need superstars, we drafted ours... just need some average starters and will add to core through the draft.
