You do realize that we have less than $6M to sign a FA, right? If you don't have much money, then your best bet is to wait until most of the cap heavy teams have spent their money. Then guys who were originally looking for way more than we could offer might be willing to take less because there's no longer a competitive market for them. Maybe at least see what we end up doing with the exception before complaining? As for a "big" or "medium" move, it would have to be one worth trading Capela, Gordon or Tucker for. Trading some combination of those guys is the only way that we can acquire a player making more than our exception. Sounds like they were willing to do that for Butler. Who else is/was available that you'd want to trade something like Capela/Gordon for and was a realistic possibility?
The nba should have an all player draft every 2 years where the whole league gets reshuffled. It’s getting to the point where no team outside of the glamor destination spots has any chance at all of luring marquee free agents.
Sign and trade for KCP That would wreak havoc on jersey purchases. But I think this year's free agency is balancing the league back out competitively
You guys are brutal. You know he had a knee injury all last season, I guarantee wherever he plays next season he has a better year
Please remember how well our core of Capela, PJ, EG and even Rivers and Manimal gelled together last year with our 2 all stars. You’d need to blow that up just to get in another decent player. Would completely destroy the chemistry this team has put together. We also have no money. This team going back under the radar in the media (as opposed to being the Warriors only threat) is the best thing that can happen. We’ll win plenty of games and make another strong playoff run without changing a thing...
