    Was poltergeist a character?

Either way, I think they all suck. I've never been a horror fan. I find them all silly and extremely predictable. "Uh oh! You fell asleep. Gee, I wonder what will happen." "Why can't I outrun a dude with a limp?" "What will happen when I turn this corner?"

    I enjoyed that jab.

My guess is this will be a disaster. Just looking at how awful and cheap Freddy vs Jason was, I've got next to no hope here.

I've got to believe this is just going to be a cheap buck for them as opposed to a serious ballsy shot at making a darker, more frightening run at the series (which would be nice, considering how the franchise killed itself going for silly murder scenes).

Check out New Line's recent history:

    Pretty brutal.

It scared the hell out of me when I was a kid. I mean, monsters in masks with knives is one thing, but Freddy came after you in your dreams.

That messed with my sleep, man. that's where I was a viking.

That Be Kind, Rewind trailer wasn't nearly as bad as I was expecting, though.

plus Michel Gondry (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind) is directing so, even though I can't stand Jack black, I may give it a shot.

Pathetic! We can't come up with any original ideas so let's remake every successful horror movie series there ever was and package it differently. Yes, I didn't appreciate Rob Zombie's "Halloween", either. I thought it sucked. Okay? So, we saw little Mikey Myers growing up. If I had that kid's problems growing up, then the worst I would have become is a drug user. lol

Freddy scared me when I was a kid. The idea of a dude who could kill you in your sleep freaked me out.

Michael Myers(the Shape) is pretty creepy if we only factor in the 1978 original.

And Norman Bates should be included in this poll.

I voted for Leatherface because he lacks the "superpowers" of the others. He's just a deranged man with an unusual desire for clothing made of a unique, but hardly "rare," fabric.

Wasn't the last one where they created a "Hellraiser" video game and had a big party or something. That was Hellraiser: Hellworld. Pinhead was in that one.

Anyway, I think the new one is a remake of the original.

It's the year 2127. Pinhead, the evil cenobite of the series, has found himself on board a space station in outer space, run by scientist Dr.Merchant. Dr. Merchant's mission is to close the gates to hell forever. Because his ancestor, a toymaker in the 18th century, built the evil puzzlebox that opens the gates to hell. And through the generations, the family of the bloodline has tried to stop it. But now, Dr.Merchant has built the reverse box. The box that will close the gates to hell instead of opening it.
