He almost has this attitude that he’s here to provide veteran leadership and he’s content with that through his interviews. I first noticed it when he got signed. Almost like he expected to lose but he’s doing his job if there is improvement. I don’t think he wanted to be here in the first place but no one else was going to give him that bag.

Harden had 25 against the Wizards but against the Cavs and Boston, the better defensive teams almost single digits.

Imagine nitpicking James Hardens point production vs "good teams" on a squad that went 12-3 in the month of January and where he is the 3rd option! LOL

Why are we still looking for a rim protector when we already have Fred? :D

we gave a guy coming off 17, 4, and 7 on 39% from the field and 34% from deep 40+ mil a year

this dude’s annual salary is basically equal to his FG%

Yet they might maneuver themselves into a losing end to all this......the momentum is pointing at up and down and rather down....

No 2 year contract is ever going to be the worst deal in any franchises history. We could cut him tomorrow and it still wouldn't be the worst because the free agent market this off-season is looking terrible and we don't have to pay anyone until the 2025 off-season. There's a ton of overreaction here, everyone looking at $40 million in a vacuum instead of looking at the opportunity cost of it is really short sighted. This is not to say it was an overall great signing, but acting like it's catastrophic is a huge overreaction

Don’t understand the hate Fred is getting here. He is a big part of why the Rockets are a much improved team this year. He will be gone in a little more than a year from now if we don’t want to keep him a third year. We had to overpay the vets to come to a crappy team. I’m very happy having him run the team right now until we find a better option. Maybe Amen will be ready in another year, or maybe we go in another direction. Right now, Fred is providing what this young team needs.

I don't know how many times I've said it on this board whenever someone whines about FVV's salary. It doesn't matter how much we pay him now. We needed to spend the money no matter what, preferably on a PG to push KPJ out of his head honcho seat. What matters is how long we pay the guy. FVV's contract is fine. It's going to expire next year when the kids begin to get paid.

There is an amount teams have to pay, but it is not regulated how to spend and how many players to spend on.....

I prefer to criticize him without mentioning the money now......or mentioning the money just to say that he is overrated....

I honestly thought he was overrated in Toronto after Kawhi left as well.....and he was making what 21 million?

There is a world where we can talk about him quite possibly regressing without mentioning the 40 million.....

He's obviously ridiculously overpaid, but he's the best PG this team has had in a while. Having said that, he needs to step up his game. He's been pretty disappointing lately.

Don't hate FVV at all. He was a good signing, especially with the option to end his contract after next year. I just want Amen to be his only backup and for him to play less minutes. It will be good for him and the team. FVV and Brooks have help us re-set the culture and should continue to start, but the young guys need to start building chemistry for next year.

i agree... folks dont understand that we're overpaying FVV to provide some solid vet leadership - and the amount doesnt really matter bc we are paying him concurrently with our rookie scale contracts...
idk what people think... who was the great free agent acquisition they wanted us to pay? lol

So happy to see after the dysfunctional cesspool that this org has been that they seem to finally be putting some effort into building a culture!

of course, im sure most would mortgage anything and everything to get Ja - and go further down the crazy hole... lol!

Everybody, including Fred himself, knows that he's overpaid. And it was somewhat intentional without a better option out there other than the phantom of James Harden.

I think "regress" is probably not the right word. He overachieved a bit earlier. Now he's back to what he is. His minutes and shot attempts need to be cut down. I agree with those who think Amen should be replacing some more of Fred's minutes.

FVV was leading the league in MPG earlier this season. He's down to #6, right behind Durant and ahead of Trae Young. Clearly, that isn't optimal. His subpar play seems predictable. We need Amen to keep improving so we can keep FVV fresh when you need a steady hand.

FVV is fine. You needed some vets to get this shipped turned around while the young guys learn the NBA.

Plan is working. Keep Calm, Carry On. Trust the process.
