Fred VanVleet will be the worst FA acquisition in Rockets history

Nah I dont watch the games I just like to wait for the nerds to come in and tell everyone what players will lead to wins and then argue against them. Its fun!

 

I enjoy being the heel no worries. You'll see my final form in May when all of the nerds wonder why their prognostications arent translating.

For the record the turnaround with this team is not owed to any one or two players. The team has an identity after the tank years and the ego maniacs need to try and find the "told ya so" angles before too much settles into place. We have a little insecurity issue here if you havent notice by now, but hey it makes the petty that much more fun. Some guys think FVV is worth 40Ms to provide "stability" which is fine. He'll be a great contract to go after a real star soon.

 

I mean we literally had Shroeder, he was pretty garbage and we didn't win anything while he played

 

We dumped the ultimate loser PG and replaced him with a winning PG.

Even though their raw statistics may make them look comparable or even make KPJ look better, FVV is a massive, massive improvement. Defense, professionalism, positioning, attitude, ball distribution it's absolute night and day and easily the biggest reason for our turnaround.

FVV being a little overpaid means absolutely nothing from a cap management perspective.

 

yup, the only reason he's even in this thread is because of his mental illness for KPJ of all people.

About FVV though, he's a a chucker no doubt about it. But his defense and ability to run the offense is carrying us to wins with Sengun. I think his knee injuries pretty much killed his ability to score inside, I think he might be better off just taking mid range jumpers and 3's at this point

 

Like that attitude. My whole perspective is if someone is making well thought out posts then someone should respond in kind without a generic insult like "he doesn't watch the games ".

I have noticed and agree with you. People seem so dialed in to be right instead of being willing to see how things play out and possibly change their perspective. The Green hate is really disappointing to me. They had to pay someone but like you said we'll be able to use his contract in a big deal so there's value there.

 

i'm one of the bigger jalen green defenders but if all it took was Fred + Green + picks for Morant I would fly back to Houston and take them to the airport myself.

 

Anyone else remember the meltdowns from the "Know Ball Efficiency Brigade" when we signed Dillon Brooks? Yeah that was cute. Its good for know it alls to be humbled every once in a while. It creates "character"

Ok, I have to ask what KPJ has to do with FVV? I don't know the history on if he did or didn't defend KPJ but KPJ was always headed to the bench before him continuing to be a moron got him booted from the NBA (for the record I can't stand KPJ). Also, people have different opinions. If he was defending KPJ before he quit at halftime, got in an altercation with Lucas and beat up his girlfriend that's significantly different than if he was doing it afterwards.

On FVV I agree with that analysis. Just wish he could shoot but Verbal Christ's analysis is accurate as well. Essentially you both are saying the same thing in just different methods

I was KPJ fan #1 so there you can have some context. Ever since he was traded the only input i've added was towards his criminal case and how many guys understand domestic violence suddenly because it was convenient. In turn that made me a wife beater by association and well you can see how the talks remain. All the while some of the same guys "cape" for Ime Udoka and Josh Giddey. You seeing the picture yet?

 

Well today its "Jalen Green is beyond trash and we should trade him blah blah blah" ... to start the season it was Dillon Brooks would break us. Now it appears that FVV will save us. So many of you that have hitched your wagon to one or two hot takes and rarely give the TEAM credit. Just searching for that next dopamine shot of "being right".
