On talent alone I would too because he's a special player. I'd need to know he's leaving his entourage in Memphis though. If that was the case then I'd have no issue. Moot point though because Memphis isn't trading him. They've stuck by him through everything so unless something goes way south then he'll probably be there for a long time. They suck but he's going to be about rebuilding his image

I hope this thread dies, but I have to just point out that no 2-yr contract can be the worst acquisition in franchise history. We had Ryan Anderson on an expensive 4-yr deal. We may still be paying Matt Maloney.

 

Just out of curiosity regarding this take, what do you think our record is right now if we had Dennis Schroeder this year instead of FVV? Assume he plays 38mpg, shoots ~15 times per game, floor general, always has the ball in his hands, tons of pnr, etc. All the same stuff. Do you think we're 11-9?

 

You should know better than to measure a player based on a single stat.

My eye test tells me that this dude makes the guys around him better.

FVV is clearly overpaid but comparing him to Dennis freaking Shroder is laughable.

Eye test and Advanced/impact numbers show two completely different caliber of players.

 

I do wonder if guys like @Verbal Christ actually watch the games. FVV has literally won us several games by settling the team down and hitting clutch shots. The Rockets are SIGNIFICANTLY better with him on the court. I'd say he's easily our second most impactful player at the moment after Sengun.

 

Replace FVV with Schroeder and we’re nowhere near the playoff/play-in picture.

Dude caped hard for KPJ and I think the resulting downfall of his guy has caused him to meltdown a bit.

After our 0-3 start he was trying to make victory lap posts about “oh I thought KPJ and Silas were the problem”

 

I've only had brief interaction with him but it definitely seems he watches the games. If he didn't we wouldn't have just had a conversation regarding Ja Morant. Everyone has their own opinion. Granted I'm new but he seems like an intelligent poster. I thought the Dakota guy was a troll (and was told that by many members) but also some said he isn't. I was also told that Bobbythegreat was a troll but I had a good conversation with him and didn't get that vibe whatsoever. I don't get why a strong majority of this board has completely give up on Jalen Green.

End of the day everyone has a n opinion and reality is it's just that. As long as everyone is respectful to each other it's cool reading different opinions. If we all thought the same it would be boring

 

On the “overpaid” point, FVV is a top 50 player, and the entire top 50 of highest paid players make 30 mil+. So, are we really that concerned about paying a little more on a per year basis considering the team friendly length of the contract when our rookie extensions won’t even kick in until FVV’s opt-out year? Just complaining for the sake of complaining.
