Idk if it was just an emphasis because of a couple losses or if it's because Fred was out but that thing was popping around and finding the net.
Clippers are so **** without Harden, even Sengun seemed to know he didn’t need to give 100% effort for the team to secure the win.
Like, why on earth is Fred taking slightly more shots than last season? It doesn't make a lot of sense. He's taking fewer 3's, which is what we needed most from him. His assists are down, because the same set of guys around him are making fewer 3's than last season. Should definitely be taking fewer shots than last season's 14. He should be closer to 12 shots this season regardless of minutes and we need him to be the leader of getting our assist rate up. Feels like he's treating this like a contract year. I'm honestly fine with it, just want to see Ime start to ween the team off FVV slowly and shorten his minutes. Want to see him more off ball catch and shoot, less hero-ball. He was really good for us last season. Just need him to take fewer difficult shots and move the ball a bit more.
I would like to see a larger sample size of Amen and Green starting backcourt. Might be bit of a knee jerk but still intriguing after last game.
The backcourt duo of Amen and Jalen Green looks promising based on those two games. Their chemistry and performance stood out. However, it feels like Fred might be holding back the full potential of some of our players.
If you think Fred will change his ways just ask Raptors fans. They watched FVV for years and when his shot is not there he will keep jacking it up. He has that dumb Kobe mentality. I don't mind keeping FVV if he is okay with being a 6th man off the bench but his contract must be reasonable and not another overpay.
I just wish we push the pace and utilize our young guys correctly and let them run. Fred is really holding us back.
he’s washed either trade him to a team looking to shed long term salary or just don’t pick up his option
I don't think he's treating it as a contract year. He's stinking it up shooting. The entire starting lineup has a below league average TS%. The Rockets need him to make shots. I don't think he has much option on the difficulty of shots. Moving the ball around more would be good.
Contract year means he TRIED to score more, doesn't mean he made more. The fact that he got less efficient one year later is predictable. IMO it's on Ime to gracefully reduce his shots. He doesn't really score better than Jalen on TS%, we want to see a more diversified offense now that it's clearly stagnant. I don't think he's consciously being an ******* I just think it's human nature. He should aim to have his career highs in assists as he ages. Right now the team needs him to instill motivation in them by getting them better shots more than anything. Everyone but Sengun and Green is underutilized.
Isn't it FVV's team though? He's the team's highest paid player that plays the most minutes and the coach prioritizes playing him 40 minutes a night over winning games. I'd say it's pretty much his team for better or worse.....and if you want to change that, you need to dump him or dump Udoka because as long as they are both here, it'll be FVV's team.
Stone needs to move FVV to better the team long term because coach has no incentive to do so. Udoka is coaching to win as many games as quickly as possible. It’s apparent the future means nothing to coaches decision-making only wins and losses. As it should.
I honestly think FVV is a team guy but he hasn’t been good and I bet that bothers him more than it does us.
