Agreed. Carmelo to me will only be known as a scorer and looks like this season he can't even do that.
AK is sure a good player, but he's no Bird. Not even close. He plays for Utah. Nah, I like him. Hate the team, though... Boozer included, the backstabber.
Not the part which Kirilenko considers his hometown (he is from St. Petersburg, which is definitely in Europe). Russia is both in Europe and in Asia (as is Turkey). He was also born in Europe, not in Asia...in Izhevsk, Siberia, where, coincidentally, the AK-47 was designed by Kalashnikov. http://www.worldatlas.com/webimage/countrys/europe/eur.htm
That international team keeps getting better and better... Nash Peja Kiri Dirk Ming vs. Kidd Kobe Garnett Duncan Shaq I want to see it! The international team might get outrebounded, but they can definitely shoot a lot better...especially free throws...and Kiri would swat everything in sight!
I wanna see their reserves though, starting line up is pretty good but the bench would probably get killed
Possible Reserves: PG Arroyo (didn't exactly get killed at the Olympics), Parker SG Ginobili, Turkoglu SF Deng, Welsch PF Gasol, Mutombo C Ilgauskas, Magloire, Divac So, Reserves: PG Arroyo SG Ginobili SF Deng PF Gasol C Ilgauskas vs. PG Cassell SG T-Mac SF Artest PF Brand C Brad Miller The US reserves are better, but I think the international reserves would not get exactly get killed out there...biggest mismatch is at SG...might as well put T-Mac ahead of Kobe!
Arroyo/Parker Giricek/Ginobili Nocioni/Milicic Pau/Nene Primoz Brezec/Z man/Magloire There are actually quite a few serviceable international big men, the only question mark really being the 3 spot for the reserves. They have some impressive depth there too, don't count them out.
Kiri is a bit taller, he is higher in the air, yes, his arm is longer, but it is also the angle of the picture, I think.
Exactly: Notice that AK only has fingers over Melo, when taking into consideration that AK is higher up...........
The Classic tip rebound. Terrible. Just terrible. But at least Carmelo is clearing out with his forearm to ensure the rebound.
Just dont look at the picture. Just watch AK 47 play and you will see that hes the real deal. A top ten player at best. Very unselfish, plays within the system and probably the BEST DEFENSIVE PLAYER in the game today. He's length, arms and hops just make him a superior defender than a bowen or an artest and even a ben wallace becoz of his offense. He just needs a consistent jumpshot to become a serious, I repeat serious MVP contender. Hes still young at 24 and its scary to think how good will he be 4 to 5 years time. Definitely, the Jazz and the Rockets will become the spurs and Twolves in the future.
Yeah I was thinking he should win Defensive player but then I checked wallace's stats. He has more blocks and almost as many steals (average) as kirilenko while doubling his rebound output so Wallace puts a little damper on that award for kirilenko but I'd say he's definitely top 5 .
Wallace does not have remotely as many blocks as Kirilenko this season so far. I know because I have them both on my fantasy team.
