[freakish thought] Landry dumping originated from bad blood from RFA talks?

Would you have said the same if we were talking about 40% 3pt shooting, 24ppg, 10 free throw attempts per game Kevin Martin of last season? If so, I don't see how you could expect something better than that. Been one of the most efficient scorers in the league for a few seasons now, which fits in with Morey's philosophy. K-Mart at that level is definitely better than Butler (good at some things, not particularly great at anything, older), and Iguodola (I feel like good outside shooting is a necessity for anyone they bring in.)

Plus, Martin has a much more reasonable contract than Iguodola.

Who else did we have an option to bring in? Our biggest need was a scoring shooting guard.

If you're concerned about the injuries and drop in numbers of Martin this year, then I share your concern. I guess it comes down to whether you think he can return to that same level.

Carl hasn't even reached his peak yet in my opinion. True his production is a bit down due to double teams but he just started seeing double teams this season due to his high production against the one on one defense. He's such a hard worker that I'm sure he'd start learning to identify the doubles and pass out of them more effetively. The guy is still improving and now he'll be doing it for another team. This team has been so snakebitten with injuries and Carl has been rock solid in that department. I just hope there is some way we can replace him. We're thin up front now. Thank god we still have Scola though.

Not really a fan of loosing Landry.
This is how bad McGrady has done to the Rox by preventing them to trade him last season. Hes costed us Landry.

Landry will be a free agent this summer so what are the chances of us resigning him? Use him as a trade asset as you mentioned and then resign him. Sounds good to me if we have the money in the summer to do it.

Short answer - No. Not at all.

Morey does not really give a crap about how other GMs manage their teams when running his own. If Morey gave into his agent, would he be as highly valued as he is now on this board? not with a larger price tag - still good, but he molded an asset and he is using it. Big deal.

Expect to see more "Landrys" in Rockets uniforms throughout his tenure.

Yep the injury bug of McGrady / Ming and oh, have you never noticed Adelmans players have always been banged up too? Not only in Houston, but in Sacramento and Portland some what.

    Dumb original post.

Landry is not a dumping. It's the price you pay to make a good trade. You have to give up a good player to get get good players and draft picks back.

Yes, the Rockets screwed Landry because he wanted more money two years ago just like they sabotaged McGrady's career because he played hurt last year.

Or maybe Morey just made a move to make the Rockets a better team now and in the future. Naaaah, that can't be it.

He can score, but he will drive you mad with his lack of defense. Shane and Ariza will have to work overtime on the defensive end with him around.

And misses 40% of his games.

He is off the 40% mark though.

Landry had a team option for 3M next season. So no, not a free agent. I wonder if Morey tried to offer Sacramento Scola first.

anyone remember the rockets making it pretty clear to the media that his knees arent 100%? right around the time they were talking contracts?

everyone on the board said it was to drive landry's price down and scare away teams.

i cant be the only person that remembers this.
