Um. Shouldn't this be "Frat like it's going out of style". Because the phrase is supposed to mean that you have to do something quick and enjoy it now because soon it won't be worth doing anymore. But if "it'll never go out of style" then there is no urgency to do it, because it will always be around.
I've never been a big fan based on my original first-hand experience with them at then-SWT. Of course, KAs were the most racist frat on campus then, but hearing the "n" word thrown around with the negative connotation, I couldn't handle it. Not to mention them defacing my property when they came to our room to visit my KA pledging roommate. I know it's not fair, but when I think frats, I think racist ****ers. I love the fact that the KA president that year came out of the closet not much later!
Yeah, I had plenty of stuff stolen at the house by so-called "brothers" so I wasn't sure how much of that I could take. Also I used to wear pink shirts back before it was a fratty thing to do. In fact, I'd get **** about it at the house but I didn't care. I'd tell them they were the ones acting a bit homoerotic with some of the stuff they'd do, especially in regards to hazing. Now I see all those guys wearing pink shirts and it's utterly ridiculous and pathetic. Don't get me wrong, I liked alot of the guys, and still hang out with the cool ones, but there's plenty of deuches to make it not worthwhile. It was like revenge of the high school nerds. And when they started telling me how to think and act, I got the hell out of dodge. And don't get me started on the time I brought my best friend who happens to be black to a party. I almost busted some heads that night, lemme tell ya. Now I just spend my $1400 a semester on cool stuff.
i'd like to hear how pledgeship is going for some of the guys who mentioned they were pledging earlier. our pledgeship is going great so far, even though we fell short in the number of pledges we wanted to take this semester. but we got hosed, for a better lack of words. at least we're holding true to our Southern roots....
