Okay, so Yao doesn't have a great series and that means he is not good anymore or what? Did you forget how well he started playing after the toe injury and before the knee injury? The JVG hate is hilarious. People are now attacking our best player in attempt to bash JVG once again.

And I find this bullsh!t of Gumby turning Yao into a beast hilarious as well. The dude was going to become a dominant NBA center - NO MATTER WHO COACHED HIM. That's like saying that Phil Jackson played a huge role turning Michael Jordan into the greatest player ever. No - it was Michael Jordan who played the huge role just like it has been Yao who has been stepping up his game. He's not quite there as he still shows signs of softness (referencing my earlier comment) but he is progressing very well.

It's completely different. Phil Jackson put Michael Jordan in a position to win. Van Gundy completely changed Yao's style. Yao came into the league as a sweet-shooting face-up center. Rudy T was happy to use that player. Van Gundy thought Yao would be better with his back to the basket most of the time. It made him worse for the first few months, but Van Gundy was right. Yao's hard work and Thib's coaching deserves as much credit as Van Gundy, but it was Van Gundy's vision. And Yao is his legacy.
