I hated him as a Steeler. (And I don't normally throw the hate word around, but I truly mean it when I say I hated Franco Harris.) Could I learn to accept him as a Senator? If he retired Arlen Specter, probably so... but if he were running in my state, he'd have to publicly say the Renfro catch was good before I could vote for him. Oh, and in anticipation of the inevitable grumbling about qualifications from our friends on the RNC payroll, let me just add... Jim Bunning, Lynn Swann, Jack Kemp, J.C. Watts, Mike Ditka, Tom Osborne, Steve Largent. And don't forget the actors... Ronnie, Arnie,and Sonny. Not to mention the failed sportscaster/DJ/college drop-out that currently runs the Republican Party.
