Will somebody please validated this rumors! I don't think , the wink wants out with Yao and Cat on his side. HMMM! Remember now!!! Puff, Puff and Pass!! Try it again! Puff,Puff and Pass!!
i get it. the problem is that after 4 years the "franchise" does not. he has not improved as a point guard and floor leader since he got here. he is the one who wanted to play the point and be the playmaker. he is the one who forced a trade out of vancouver cause he wanted to play point. this whole desire to move to the two has more to do w/ the fact that he cant play point than it does his scoring. he could do fine offensively (agree w/ you-he is a scorer). he will get his butt kicked by most SG's w/ the way he plays d. there are only a couple options for points if steve goes to the 2. we would need a good defensive guard to offset "franchise's" defecincies. steve has no natural position to play in the nba-not good, smart, patient enough to play point, but too small to play the 2. and as far as character issues go, what kind of person goes around campaigning for his "friend's" job all year? that is pretty crappy to me. francis will always want to be the #1 guy and i dont see him playing second fiddle to ming, which is what its going to take. mobley, in my opinion, would be much more willing to be a secondary option behind yao. let steve be the man on the wizzards...we over here actually want to win. francis was my favorite player up untill last year. that is about the time i got sick of his lack of improvement, despite all the talk. i got sick of hearing "no excuses-playoffs or its a failure" (and yes, the team did fail) stupid streetball/and 1 mixtape (do they ever actually hit shots in those damn videos?). everyone draws the line somewhere and for me it has been crossed. "franchise" players are supposed to make their teammates better and take their team to the playoffs. francis cannot do that and if he is the main man here than its going to be a LONG decade. might as well start looking forward to that rebuilding program in 2010. im sure rudy will still be here.
Hasn't Van Excel been kind of busy with his team still in the playoffs? Why would he be practicing at Fonde with mobley and Francis and noth in Dallas with the rest of his teammates? Your story/rumors are garbage and if anyone believes this stuff then they are stupid.
amed, I think you need to re-read that again. He wrote overseas players who are tight with Francis and Van Exel.Anyway, I don't believe this rumor.
Lets see, this thread has been used to bash Francis, trade for Garnett, hype up Tierre Brown and compare Francis and Mobley just to bash Mobley. I guess this thread has done the job of like 4 or 5 threads.
yes, quite possibly the most cost-efficient thread ever. if we keep this up clutch could save millions!
Would Francis agree to a trade w/Detroit? If Francis won't go to Minny (or Minny won't trade KG to a division rival), then what about trading for Detroit's 1st (no. 2 overall) and players (Rip, Billups, JBarry??)? That no. 2 could be Darko or Carmelo. Then use SF's salary to go after JKidd.
Joe Dumars already has Billups who is a pretty good point guard and is looking to add frontcourt strength by adding either Darko or Carmelo.
Look, I posted what was told to me. If the Steve and Cat jock riders are upset, I wonder why (they do not pay your bills). These two dribbling machines haven't made the playoffs and are 2 of the more selfish guards in the league. To understand, the point guard position look at Jason Kidd (yes, he also scores and rebounds) on the court. Steve is okay compare to physically, however, mentally is not even close. If you replaced Steve with Jason the NETS would not be headed to the finals for the 2nd straight year. Bottom line, we couldn't believe DREAM wanted to leave either!!
Sounds like a bunch of BS to me. Trade the franchise? Are you crazy? Steve is still the best player on the team without a doubt. Don't get me wrong though...I love Yao, but Steve is still the man. How about this for a solution... -Move Steve to the 2 guard -Sign a veteran big man like Karl Malone to a short term deal (believe me, he will take a pay cut to have a chance at a ring) -make a trade for a solid point guard to run the offense.
Thanks for the truth ! Its amaizing how little intelligent analysis there is from some of our fellow posters. Its almost that they are afraid of the TRUTH!
