If you don't know who he is, and don't care who he is, then this BBS is probably no different than the ESPN Rockets board is.

The bottom line is- Francis is a guy who is pretty much playing out of position, and he doesn't really HAVE a position. McGrady on the other hand should be theconsensus best non-accused rapist perimeter player in the game.

    Re: Cuttino...

If we get McGrady, I think he gets moved out of mutual benefit. JVG and TMac would both probably prefer TMac to get most of his minutes at the 2, to take advantage of his size, and prevent him from being abused by the bigger 3s. That leaves Cat out of the starting lineup (with TMac/JJ at the 2/3). MoT is a very, very good 6th man, and we'd have more pressing needs to fill. Assuming we could get a solid value, it'd make more sense to have a good starting 4 or a capable PG, than a guy who should/could be a starting SG fighting for minutes off the bench.

Tracy's a better player. But like others have said, neither has taken their respective teams to even the finals. He's still only a few notches above Steve, not head and shoulders above.

And McGrady knows how to play the game? This was the man who complained "I didn't play in college, I don't know how to beat a zone!" Granted he has a better feel for the game, but he still goes purely off of his athleticism and doesn't seem to think. Basketball IQ wise, smarter than Steve, but still...not by much.

Off-topic, but just to end this before it becomes a me thrashing Doc thing. I know he is one of the insiders on this board. I have been coming here for about 4 years, and I thanked him for the inside info he passed on. But I have no clue who the man is personally and I don't care. Do you know who he is personally? Do you care? Since he is an insider, are we supposed to take his opinion about a player as the gospel? He is no differrent than any of us other than the fact he is privy to inside info. I was just saying that he acted like it was perposterous that he could be star struck, and I was simply pointing out that no matter who you are you get star struck every now and then.

No deal! I can't stand T-Mac! He quit on his team last year! That **** won't fly with Van Gundy as coach. Plus he's a ball hog (alla Allen Iverson). Trade SF3 and Mo Taylor and Boki for Gaines and Okafor.

If you didn't care maybe you would have responded to my response first (waa, waaa) since I did respond to your post before he did. Maybe if my name was Doc Stoke, you would have not let him cut in line. Damn man, can't get no respect around here when Doc Rockets in a thread.. me, Rodney Dangerfield, and Aritha, what are we gonna do? hehe, just kidding with you man.

Thats should be the end of this. Ask any gm in the world of the list of players they would like to start a team with, and T-Mac comes in behind Shaq,Garnett, and Duncan. Francis would be well, well down the list. Its not even close as far as talent and production not to mention Francis is 2 yrs older. The Rockets can give Orlando a package that can help then be a 4 or 5 seed in the east and still have a future. The Rockets have the big man in place and are ready now. I would hate to give up Mobley because he can really go back to his psuedo pg role of his rookie yr, but to get McGrady, he has to go. I've been saying this for months now.

You are leaving out very important stats. TMAC has a .413 FG% on 1566 shot attempts, compared to Francis .403 FG% on 1117 shot attempts. Three point shooting presents us with even a bigger difference. TMAC shot .339 on 513 shots compared to Steve’s .292 on 250 shots.

The trend for percentages is always down. Take baseball for instance, at the beginning of the year you have a bunch of players hitting close to .400, but at the end of the year no one is close to .400. If Steve took 514 shots from the 3 point range more than likely his percentage would be a lot lower than .292.

I have watched Francis play for five looooog years: conclusion, overrated, poor decision maker, short on fundamentals, trade him. I have watched TMac on several occasions: conclusion, incredibly talented and SMART player, has a killer jumper, can drive, finish, and comes up LARGE at critical times, trade FOR him. Not even close. Some of you are surely kidding with this comparison.
