No your a yao only fan because you want to trade our best player so that Yao Ming then becomes our best player.

    mmmhmmm...

If I wanted to trade Francis for you then Yao would definitely become the best player, but Nash would just help the entire team.

We all know Nash is not a scorer like Francis but I have no doubt Nash is like Kidd who makes his teammates much better. I just love watching how Nash run the Dallas team just like Stockton and Kidd and Payton for their team. I can't say the same for Francis for the time being since he still play out of control and doesn't know how to run the offense efficiently. By the time Francis learn to play like Kidd, Nash or Payton then I wouldn't want to hear any more trade Steve for ect...

    Who's a better scorer? Francis
    Who's a better passer? Nash
Who's a better decision making? Nash
    Who's better court vision? Nash
    Who's a better shooter? Nash
    Who's more unselfish? Nash

All these question answer on who's a better point guard which is Nash. Nash can fit well on almost any team. Francis is NOT a point guard. He's a shooting guard in a point guard's body. He plays the same way like AI. Whenever Francis has the ball, he wants to score. I know he's trying to change that but I always believe in court vision and quick descision making is what you born with and cannot be taught.

    Not that it matters, but:

    Who's better on defense?
    Who's a better rebounder?
    Who's a better finisher?
    Who hits more clutch shots?

You guys can keep overblowing the point guard/shooting guard distinction all you want, I think otherwise, and Jeff Van Gundy has said in the past that he doesn't give a rats ass about this distinction either. So until Jeff's gone, you guys are S.O.L. on this issue.

Nash is clearly the better PG, he's much smarter on the ball, and knows when to take the jumpshot because he has one unlike Francis. Nash is the QB of mavericks, he controls the flow, what a PG supposed to do. He doesn't care bout makin double pump circus shots like franchise does, all he cares bout is winning and getting the TEAM involved. U can even play Nash on a video game and he'll beat up francis with his long range bombers. Nash brings alot of intensity and energy but doesn't overdose it like the other steve. last night francis was tryin too hard like he always does as if he was relying on LUCK. Nash has more confidence and POISE. I'd take Nash over FRancis anyday. Francis is only good for the Dunk contest period.

cuban would be crazy to trade nash for steve. a good trade for both teams would be finley & bradley (not as bad as he is made out to be) for yao.

You need to throw in Cato, Mo to make the trade work.

Finley + Bradley for Cato + Mo + Yao.

Then Dallas may win Champion this year.

Some fans are just idiots. Nash is a solid player but no way is in his SF league. Nash has never ever been the man. It's easy to look good when the defense is focusing on other players. Of course there are some things that Nash does better than SF. Bradley blocks shots better, would some of you trade SF for him? Wait till Nash becomes a free agent and watch the contract offers he gets, no way he gets close to Max money, more like Bibby money. However, if SF became a free agent there would plenty of teams offering max for his services.

So, you are one of them?:D

Francis is a better athlete, but Nash is a better bball player. Will GM trade Francis for Nash, I doubt. Francis just has too much athletic talent over Nash for anyone to consider such a trade.

I think the subject should be ¡°Is Nash more valuable for the Rockets?¡± I¡¯d think so because he fits the Rockets better. But that doesn¡¯t mean I¡¯ll trade Francis for him simply because Francis has much high potential, and superior physical ability than Nash. If Francis for Nash + Finley/AJ/AW, then I¡¯ll definitely pull the trigger. But Dallas won¡¯t do it, though.

No one says Francis is a better PG than Nash, but you don¡¯t have to have a great PG to win. All we need is good ball handler & distributor, not great one, to take that duty away from Francis & Mobley, so they can concentrate on scoring. The sad part is our best candidate is Moochie, that¡¯s why he¡¯s been giving a lot of minutes. The guy shouldn¡¯t even be in this league.

yes his 20+ pts are all dunks, and his 6+ assits are somehow magicly converted into dunks, and francis so athletic that he gets his 6+rebounds and jumps on the other side of the court and dunks it.

That's not true. If we had like a Jamaal Tinsley instead of Francis the team would be SCREWED. Only J-Kidd, Nash, or possibly POSSIBLY Payton would make us better at the point.

I like the way Nash plays. If there was a way to have Nash and Francis that would be awesome.

This isn't a speculative trade thread more of just throwing an idea out for discussion.

Are you sure Francis is a better finisher? Have you seen him run the fast break? Sure Francis can finish a penetration with athletic dunks and circus lay ups, but he seems to turn it over at a higher percentage than Nash when he drives in. Nash can just as easily drive in and score with a finger roll, a floater, or a simple lay-up as often as Francis.

...and I suspect that Francis is any better at defence than Nash.

The three point guards I don't mind trading Francis for includes Steven Nash. The other two are Baron Davis and Jason Kidd. :)

Nash had more TO's last night. Francis is better than Nash.

I was just saying that to take a little heat off of Franchise. Steve F. did some things I didn't like last night, but overall he's a better player than Nash. Nash might be the better pg, but Steve is the better player by far.

Without Steve F. on our team we don't have a player that can take the team on his shoulders and just dominate. We need that especially if we are going to reach the playoffs. Steve Francis is the only one at this point who can do that. Maybe if Yao develops the attitude and killer instinct neccesary for that kind of domination my opinion might change. We need a dominant player, every good team does, and right now ours is Steve Francis.

I agree with you in part, Franchiseblade... but might you be a little biased? It's true that Steve can be the go to guy in the clutch, the Nash would make the overall offense smoother, don't you think? Remember last year against the Lakers when he had 44 or something? Francis can do that sometimes, Nash will never score 44 points but he could make others on the team better.

    Positive

You have one guy going to the basket at full speed, with a defender in the vicinity, and you wouldn't take Steve Francis?

A dunk from Francis is a far higher percentage shot than a pull up by Nash.

I don't think Steve Nash himself would dispute this.
