    Come on Cabbage,

We all realize that mistakes are part of the growing process. However, so is criticism for those mistakes.

Personally, I love Franis' upside, and I certainly know this year is one of growth and experience for our younger guys.

I just hate TURNOVERS, it is my pet peeve. The Rockets are Francis' team, and when other players see him tossing the ball around they do it too, there is a time for Showtime and Francis has not learned it yet.

Of course it is too early to expect him to know when that time is, I just want him to hurry up.

I haven't jumped on anyone. I have liked Bryce Drew the first day they drafted him. Also, I love Steve Francis. But to many mistakes. We need to play Bryce Drew more or even start him sometimes. See how it goes out. Same with Mad Cat AKA Cuttino Mobley. Mobley is good, but not great. He is shooting under 40% this year but last year he shot above 40. Start Mobley sometimes.

It's useless to even argue with people who are so naive, as to suggest Bryce Drew should start.

Start Bryce Drew sometimes... MAYBE IF FRANCIS GETS INJURED.

I knew this would happen. People here see drew have a couple good games latley and Francis has a bad game so they think alot of Drew. If I remember correctly, DREW SUCKED REALLY BAD in the start of the season. He is now getting better. Francis is LEARNING. It takes time, it will come through sometime but not now.

BryceDrewFan: Steve Francis is the best young player we have had in 16 years and you want to bench him because of rookie mistakes?

    Cabbage,

"The best young player we have had in 16 years?"

    What about Terry Teagle?

Guys it has been interesting to watch this debate but the fact is that we have TWO good young point guards on this team. Drew doesn't have Francis' athleticism but he is developing very nicely. It is unlikely that Drew will ever start here as long as Francis is healthy in a Rocket's uniform. Drew WILL be a starting point guard in this league within the next 2-3 years. He will either leave via a trade or he will leave via free agency. I agree with the consensus that Drew probably won't ever take over as the starting point guard while Francis is here but some of you need to realize that Drew can play the game. He is going to be a good player in this league.

I hear you, JT. I hope Drew gets tons of minutes so we can trade him for something valuable. He won't be a Rocket for long. Drew is showing it takes time to develop, but we need him to show his stuff to the league ASAP. There are alot of good teams out there that need steady point guards.

    ThankYou JeffB!

Guys, don't expect to win any games this year, and don't be upset when we lose. Every great point guard goes through growing pains and you have to stick by them. You can't jump all over them and criticize them for their mistakes...they're rookies for god sakes, they are supposed to make mistakes! This is a learning experience. Jason Kidd, Allen Iverson, Stephon Marbury, Jason Williams, Gary Payton, Kevin Johnson all went through the exact same phase. Francis will get better with time. I think we should just come to expect the negatives from this team this season seeing this is a learning year, and not criticize them, but instead focus on the positives. Instead of complaining about Francis' turnovers, let's praise Carlos Rogers, Bryce Drew, and Cuttino Mobley for their great efforts.

I think the answer may lie in the middle. Why not let francis start at the 2 where he has spent most of his pre-NBA career and slide over and play the point vs the opponents backups or tired starters?

Drew has been doing a good job of running the offense, so why not take some of the pressure off from Francis?

Francis may still evolve into more of a 2 than a PG anyways, so why not let us try this now? It's not like we are going to blow our playoff seeding by trying new lineups.
