I agree. Batman is WAY too overrated. Spiderman is much better. But I thought we were talking about Francis?

Anyway, is anyone going to eat?

I am not a Francis basher, I'm a huge fan. And last season there were too many times I reminded myself he's still young, and he is. I'm new to this site, so if he's been trashed here by Rocket fans, I think that's ridiculous. I can defend him as easily and conscienably as anyone. But criticism is not an evil thing. None of us could ever grow up without it. And I'd bet Rudy and CD have had to say some things to Steve Francis since the season ended he might not like. I was outraged when Dick Vitale suggested the Rockets trade him and take Jay Williams in the draft, and I'm sure that was tough to take for Steve. I think it's rediculous he hasn't been asked to play for the U.S. national team (pre-shoulder surgery). And I don't care what happened in the off-season or anything else in the past now. This year is going to be important. I think we're a playoff team, but even if we don't make it, the way Steve and Cat (I'm not worried about Moochie) handle Ming and Nachbar's arrival is going to go a long way in determining if we're competing for championships in two or three years. I've been reading all the posts and, believe me I'm almost as giddy as anyone. So if I offend anyone by suggesting that I'm concerned that Steve and Cat aren't going to be willing to be a possible 3rd banana, I'm sorry. It's a legitamate concern, even if wrong (and I hope I am). Rudy and CD have a predisposition toward winning with big men. They lived Moses and Hakeem dominating whole seasons. They've watched Cato become the biggest collective mistake they've made - and even that error shows how dedicated they are to find a decent center in this NBA center-deprived era. That's why I worried about Francis' saying we were fine with Cato. After all, MJ won 6 titles without an above-average center, right? I know this is a stupidly long post, but however this season ends up Steve Francis will have to show a great deal more in the locker room and off the court than he has if we're going to become a championship team And if I have to eat my words? Great! I'm a Rockets fan.

Dude. What did I do to you? I thought you guys were talking about Francis too til I read your post.

    Um. Spiderman sucks.

I'm trying to believe that most of the Francis bashing came from folks who believed TrollBaros' hype, which was helped along by word from Doc Rocket and Clutch saying that Steve didn't like the pick and by Steve himself saying a player like that had never helped his game. At the time, most level headed people said they disagreed with Steve and hoped and believed he'd see the light. He has. As predicted by one Batman Jones. I don't seem to recall that sissy Spiderman having anything at all to say on the matter.

it probably wasn't shot down as a bad idea, it's just not soemthing that steve needed to do, and still doesn't. but, the fact that he plans to visit ming is a huge bonus and will give the chemistry a good start.

Sorry, but the whole Batman and Robin relationship kind of freaks me out. Its probably worse than Stockton and Malone. At least Spiderman had MJ and the Black Cat. :D

Good point about TB misleading people, although I don't know why they believed him.
