http://clublakers.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=49955&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=2700 I had to register there and reply after one guy claimed he heard 610 sports in Houston was saying the Rockets are in trade talks involving Mcgrady with an unnamed team. They're still at it. They think they have superior rights as Laker fans and teams are going to give them their star player for Odom and change.
LOL! Oh man, how can you not love LA fans? They're incredibly self-centered and delusional...it's almost cute
Yeah it's the most entertaining thing I've read tonight -- that board and the other one - Lakerground I think it's called. They also claim Isiah is trying to get KG on his team. That I'm actually inclined to believe, since it's obvious Isiah *is* trying to outdo the Yankees this year with his payroll.
If that deal happened CD . . JVG .. LEs . .. the rocket team would have to go into hiding Rocket River
I've been watching and there is a ton of entertainment value in the thread. I had this chilling thought...WE are every bit as idiotic, ridiculous, irreverent, and fictional in our review of proposed deals. Looking from the outside in on this board might land them same comments elsewhere. It was just last night that I read a deal that included our sending JHO and receiving Odom. That is just ridiculous. We need to take care of business on the court so that should one of "the [Lakers board] others" invade our board, we can give them the old high school chant and point to the "SCOREBOARD...SCOREBOARD!"
Sometimes, crazy trade ideas suggested by posters here to rob other teams, make me laugh. But Odom + Cook for TMac? Those Lakers fans are very brave to suggest that. That's the least I can say. If Les, CD and JVG let that happen, Rockets will be laugh number one in NBA for the next 20 years. Raptors got nothing for VC because he didn't want to play, and others were not sure about his knees. But TMac for Odom? Unless TMac said officially that he lost interest in basketball already.
yeah but these guys are taking this to another level. I mean they are actually suprised that Mcgrady is in the lineup for the Rockets tonight. This isn't a fantasy with these dudes anymore, they genuinely believe Mcgrady will be a Laker before the deadline. Whoever Rocket Fan is, he made some great points, and he's probably from here, but their insider for this rumor basically told him to enjoy T-Mac while it lasts. 90% percent of the Laker fans now think they are getting Mcgrady. It's hilarious. Now they're to the point to where they are all in agreement that they should keep this on the downlow and not antagonize any Rocket fans because they don't want Rocket fans to call the Rocket's organization front office and kill the deal. Hehe.
Hey now, I stated very clearly that that deal was just a daydream. There's a term for what's going on over there in Lakerland. I think it's called "cognitive dissonance". Hahahahah.
Too late... http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2339941 ------------------- Sources: Francis dealt to Knicks for Penny, Ariza By Chris Sheridan ESPN Insider Steve Francis is headed to New York under a deal agreed to Wednesday by the Knicks and the Orlando Magic, ESPN.com has learned. The teams agreed to a trade of Francis for Penny Hardaway and Trevor Ariza, two league sources with knowledge of the deal told ESPN.com. The trade was expected to be announced later Wednesday afternoon after being called in to the league office. In New York, Francis will be paired with Stephon Marbury as the highest-paid backcourt duo in the NBA. The Knicks were still talking with several other clubs as team president Isiah Thomas worked at remaking a roster that has stumbled to the league's second-worst record, 15-37. For the Magic, the trade will provide salary cap relief to a franchise that can now go further beneath the cap than any of the league's 30 teams in the summer of 2007 when a bumper crop of free agents will be on the market, giving Orlando several options in figuring out how to rebuild around 20-year-old power forward Dwight Howard.
