It's looking like Francis to NY. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/writers/marty_burns/02/21/francis/index.html
Awesome. Isiah gets two ball-hogging overrated "combo guards" on his team. Knicks team hits bottom, digs...
Which one is going to end up playing SG and who's PG??? Will be very instresting to see how that thing plays out if it happens....
this is just sad. he basically landed mcgrady (remember to thank God each day for Weisbrod) and now can't even draw expiring contracts interest from multiple teams. Could be had, yes - but the fact is nobody else wants him.
LOL. So the Magic end up getting Jamal Crawford, Mo Taylor and Darko Mili-bust (jury's still out, admittedly) in exchange for T-Mac and J-Howard. Thank God for Weisbrod, indeed. But looking at the Knicks...if these guys continue to be bottom feeders after this, then it is one of the greatest NBA foul-ups of the century. I mean, you've got Stephon Marbury, Steve Francis, Q Richardson, Jalen Rose and Eddy Curry as your starters. So much talent, so little chemistry, so much imbalance.
ya odom another person that needs the ball in his hands to produce, not to mention would either be a small PF or would push tmac to the 2 which would tire him out chasing all the guards all day long.
I can only see getting Odom in a 3-way deal. We don't have a player of that caliber to give up in return, and the Lakers are even more desperate to make the post-season because they have the weight of being The Kobe Team as well as One of the Two Teams the NBA Office Wants to See in the Finals Let Alone the Playoffs (see also, Knicks, The G**damned). A direct trade would involve at least Stromile and Rafer and our first rounder. Unless other teams just don't want that max contract of Odom's, we wouldn't exactly stand a chance.
Anybody who thinks we will (or should) trade Rafer is smocking some serious crack (no offense). That said, I don't like the idea of giving up Wes for Odom. Our perimeter offense would suffer tremendously as a result. And I hate Lamar's beard. Makes him look ugly.
Oh, believe me, I'm not advocating trading away Rafer. Considering a trade for Odom is just boredom and frustration on my part because our team has serious problems to deal with that only Isiah Thomas as GM could make worse. As far as smoking crack.....
They have a 111 page thread dedicated to a trade with the Rockets where the Lakers get Tracy Mcgrady and the Rockets get Lamar Odom and some other scrubs. I mean this is good stuff. They've got supposedly reputable insiders giving cryptic like hints that the Lakers are about to make a big trade for Tracy Mcgrady. Even the moderators are backing the source and the possible trade. I feel sorry for the dudes because it's being built up and built up and you can feel the anticipation building every page of posts. one dude on their doesn't want the Lakers to give up Brian Cook in the deal, just Odom, George, and Slav. A few others think it's going to be a three-way where the Rockets just get Francis or both Francis and Odom. It's great entertainment I tell ya.
This looks like as good a place as any for a dreamcast trade: Orlando Magic Incoming Players Photo: Zeljko Rebraca Zeljko Rebraca Salary: $3,000,000 Years Remaining: 1 PTS: 4.1 REB: 2.1 AST: 0.4 PER: 12.12 Photo: Stromile Swift Stromile Swift Salary: $5,000,000 Years Remaining: 2 PTS: 9.4 REB: 4.8 AST: 0.4 PER: 14.92 Photo: Luther Head Luther Head Salary: $975,600 Years Remaining: 1 PTS: 8.2 REB: 3.3 AST: 2.4 PER: 10.16 Photo: David Wesley David Wesley Salary: $5,075,000 Years Remaining: 0 PTS: 10.9 REB: 2.7 AST: 3.0 PER: 11.40 Outgoing Players: Steve Francis Houston Rockets Incoming Players Photo: Cuttino Mobley Cuttino Mobley Salary: $7,241,379 Years Remaining: 4 PTS: 16.4 REB: 4.7 AST: 3.5 PER: 13.55 Photo: Shaun Livingston Shaun Livingston Salary: $3,254,880 Years Remaining: 1 PTS: 5.2 REB: 3.0 AST: 4.4 PER: 8.69 Outgoing Players: Stromile Swift, Luther Head, David Wesley Los Angeles Clippers Incoming Players Photo: Steve Francis Steve Francis Salary: $13,700,000 Years Remaining: 3 PTS: 16.3 REB: 4.8 AST: 5.7 PER: 16.23 Outgoing Players: Cuttino Mobley, Zeljko Rebraca, Shaun Livingston We would send our first round pick to the Clip Show, the Magic would get a second rounder from us and from the Clippers.
The Rockets could put together a better package for Francis than NY's Crawford and Mo Taylor offering. This just goes to show that the Rockets did not seriously negotiate for Francis, if at all, if this NY/Orlando deal goes down.
Who cares? What Isiah does with New York is pure comedy. I can't wait to see what Larry does with the best point guard in the world and stevie franchise.
