I read the Houston Chronicle and Francis stated that he was rather impressed by the Mavs beating them more man to man. Furthermore why would some of you want to nick pick about what Francis said. He's the leader of this team and mainly the only one he brought his game to Dallas with him. Mobley didn't play well but didn't back away from the Challenge and neither did Cato. HELL pick on 8 other players that didn't show up to play. For ex. Yao Ming getting B!tched around the court by Highly over paid A$$ Raef, ( 6pts and 5to's) that was ridicolous. Oh yeah the comment that Francis need to play SG after his game last night; Hell I agree with you. In fact he need to play Center, Small Forward, and Power Forward also. Since he out played all the positions last night and most nights he do as well. Last night, he lead the team in scoring, assist , 2nd in rebounding, 1st in steals, lead the team in free throw attempts and makes, and the only Rocket in the entire game to make a three pointer, IN THE ENTIRE GAME!!!! The sad part was that this wasn't by far his best game. He hands down caries this team time after time. Thats the reason Francis is getting so much recognition this season in the MVP watch. Oh yeah before some one mention Francis lead the team in TO's also, yeah I know he played 42 minutes and had 6 to's while Ming had 5 to's in 22 minutes (Thats quite a few for someone who doesn't carry the ball up the court). Get a grip on Reality. Before you keep nick picking on our present and future player of this team just remember that he was just named Western Conference player of the Week and on Espn the Good the Bad ect... he was the the first one mentioned in the good, and they also stated that how he carries Yao on his back and something esle, but the point is that they gave him his props. Now if ESPN is giving the Rockets some proper respect you would think that all will be elated on this forum, yet some you can never please even when your the only one that is giving an extra effort. BTW I'm not saying start nick picking on Yao for his pitiful showing he displayed last night; I'm just stating if your gonna hate don't do it on the player that had the best showing last night. It's like going in an A$$ kicking contest with one leg to stand on.
I heard the quote on Dallas radio today and it didn't sound like trash talk. He also said "Next time hopefully the will go Man (defense) again and we won't turn it over 26 times. Finley shoudn't talk too much trash. Dallas can't beat top tier teams even when playing well. We can beat anyone when not turning it over and distributing the ball. The consistency will come or we will make a big change at the end of next year.

Yes. Francis is great. Without him we would lose more no doubt about it. But the main problem is that as a PG and supposed leader of the team, he doesn't make his teammates around him much better. Jason Kidd makes Jefferson an All-Star but Francis makes his teammates like audience.
steve francis need to learn how to pass the damn ball more and play better defense instead of popping extasy pills with cuttino in club rehab in downtown houston.

So the Nets have many good shooters? Who? Jefferson? He would look much much better with Francis feeding the ball to him instead of Kidd right? Why did we trade him in the first place then? I am not bashing Francis. I like him and I know he's a wonderfully talented player. But he needs to run the teams' offense better and make his teammates better by getting them better shots. You don't get called a PG for nothing.
Nets have one good shooter on their team and that is Kittles. But with Jason Kidd, Nets get a lot of easy layups on offense. You don't need to be a good shooter if you are constantly doing layups. If we have Jason for PG, I am sure Yao would be scoring a lot more and EG will be having dunkfest every night. SF has a long way to go as a PG. IMHO, this Rox team will not be a champion until SF learns to run the offense and Yao starts to dominate on the inside.
I thought this thread was about the appropriateness of Francis' post game comments. How come it becomes the same old quarrel about "Francis can't pass" "Francis is playing well" stuff?

i dont think yao will get more touches, coz that will slow the game down and JK wont get his assists. yao basically cant catch-n-shoot or catch-n-dunk......yet, hes too slow for that
