Now this is the way to swat low-hanging fruit on this BBS; yes, PSJ is wrong on this one, but that's fine, we all have our moments. What KD does here, quite skillfully in my opinion, is punctuate a conventional beat down with a very hilarious reference to that disturbing gay-p*rn-fake-reporter-from-Talon-News. God that guy will always make laugh, I never expected him to make an appearance in a Steve Francis thread. Great combo. Great post, thanks.
    -----------
Steve Francis is clearly terribly frutstrated, and - even more so than in Houston - is having to take a look in the mirror. It's ugly to watch, I like Stevie, but seeing anyone come face to face with their darkside can be grotesque, especially when you like their good side.

His dilemma is as follows: It's like when you are in a relationship and it starts to rot. You break up and attribute all the rot to the girl. Then, you meet a new girl, things are great, etc. But sooner or later, the same rot creeps into the second relationship. Either you realize that on some level, the problem might be you, or you proceed - never even considering that maybe the problem is you - destined to make the same mistakes over and over again. At some point you vent your self-hatred and frustration by posting religiously in the D&D forum of this BBS. It inevitably gets that ugly.

For someone in Steve's position, it's really a double-whammy, because he will kinda have to face that he was full of crap both times, not just this time. But right now, Stevie is being forced to cinsder that maybe it was not Jeff Van Gundy, Carrol Dawson, the Vancouver Grizzlies, Mike Bibby, Fran Blinebury, Johnathan Feigen, whoever. It is not about Johnny Davis, Cuttino Mobley, John Wisebrod, that photographer dude - whoever. This is about him. We'll see what he does with that piece of information.

My guess is that he will not give much ground in Orlando. He will end up with Chicago or something, and then be all Marbury-in-Phoenix type of mature, Jim Huber will do some soft-angle piece on him.

But I think we are witnessing a fine athlete facing himself right now. Good luck, Stevie.

Come on now! Can you honestly say that photographer deserved to get kicked for doing his job? And did you feel the same way when Rodman did the same thing?

When SF does issue a press release after the video is seen by everyone, his initial statements of denial and amnesia will haunt him. He has really backed himself into a dead end. And if he tries to avoid addressing the subject after the press release, the press will hound him mercilessly until he becomes bitter and resentful, blaming everyone but himself for the mess.

Seriously, PSJ, enough of the man-loving on SF. SF a) falls on top of the photographer, b) kicks him, and c) (from the circumstantial evidence) cusses him out, and you want the photographer to be the bizatch.

After Holyfield-Tyson, were you rooting for this outcome?

"I'm sorry, Mike, for putting my oh so delicious ear so close to your teeth. I should have known you were hungry."

Everybody knows that Evander Holyfield ear is the tastiest of all. I didn't like it so much when I was younger, but I've grown to appreciate Evander Holyfield ear as much as I would, say, a nice bernaise sauce, or shaved truffles over penne.

I like Francis and if this incident is what it is (I haven't seen the video and am not just going to go by what I read here on Clutchfans believe it or not) I'm going to feel let down by this.

What surprises me is that this doesn't really seem like its in Francis's character. Sure he makes boneheaded decisions every now and then and shows off too much but act thuggish?

If this is true I hope he takes it as an object lessen to improve himself.

Even though you haven't seen it the Orlando paper quoted about has and says he kicked the guy.

Steve must be trying to build up his street cred.

Should they meet behind the auditorium after school? Real grown up. I don't know what the photographer looks like, but I wouldnt' like his chances against Steve. Thos photogs are one of the reasons why the players make what they make.

    Francis acted like a thug.

On the second thought, if Steve landed on some lady in the first row, should she expect to be kicked?

I hope you're joking, cuz if not, then I really feel sorry for you.

I really like Steve . I think he is a good person, a little boneheaded , but nonetheless a good person.
Things have been really hard enough for him recently, so lets not kick the guy while he is down. Leave that to Weisbrod.

Steve Francis is turning into Ron Artest. It was one thing when he lead the league in technical fouls for bickering with the refs, but when you throw in all the ridiculous crap he's pulled this year and now this.... It's a shame.

Francis gets traded to the Magic with Cuttino, Cat goes to the Kings, Cat's replacement is out for the season, and Steve was never very mature to begin with. Bounced around a lot from school to school, mother died when he was young (had to be rough, I can't imagine).....looks like he snapped.

The thing about Orlando is, the city's been on the verge of losing that team ever since Shaq left. It isn't getting easier for them. You have to trade Steve for a player that draws a crowd. So trading him for, say, Chauncey Billups and Darko (for example) wouldn't do the trick.

Unfortunately, Steve has made it difficult to get decent value.

Steve, I wish you the best, but I'm glad you're gone.

If Francis did that he deserves to sit out the rest of the season. There is no excuse for that. Steve has shown that if he wants to be a top player in the league he has some maturing to do.

His heart, drive, and talent are amazing. His leadership can be good at times as well. But until the maturity level matches he won't fulfill the potential.

How long did Rodman sit out after he kicked the camera man in the groin?

It will be interesting to see the leagues reaction to this post the Piston/Pacer debacle. Will the league office slap Stevie on the wrist or lay something heavy on him. My bet is it won't be a wrist slap to send a message to the players that restraint is in order, look for a 5-10 day suspension and fine.

Wow, Rodman was out for 11 games, maybe Stevie gets at least that, I'm sure the league looks at precedents and this is a similar case.
